@BlackBlitz7 you fight him and win in the battle simulator before travleing to aeos, find where he practices ands then on the trip to aeos yoou find him in the storage room. this is a neccessary scene for the ending

After you beat the purgitorium and leave Roak and your on your way to the next world, Aeos i think,..

You go to the storage room on the left, in the meeting room(?) Where you normaly speak to welch. you also find faize here 2 other times.
