Solo Sound was the leading dj/emcee crew in Hollis Queens in the late 7T´s and early 8T´s, prior to RunDMC and the Hollis crew. The crew was led my DJ Davy D (also known as Davy DMX), who later became Run DMCs first DJ ("Dave cut the records down to the bone..."). Solo Sound had various members during the years, e.g. Les Love, Kevie Kev, Little T ...Most prominent were Hurricane (later Beastie Boys DJ), Kool T & Kippy-O who, together with JMJ and Davy D, formed the Afros in the late 8T´s.
