  • i love it - what a great ear you have for authentic sounds, and your own individual art comes through as well - nicely played !

  • Fucking beatiful. I ordered this music for my fathers funeralphonsest

  • mi piace come suoni...BRAVO davvero...!!! COMPLIMENTI !

  • Very good! Que música linda!!

  • I don't really care about the drums. That's without any doubt thee best I've heard on Utube. What kind of Hammond is that and, do you know what Hammond was used in the original. I can make my B3 sound just like that. on the "B" preset, 1st 3 drawbars all the way out. perc. is On, Soft, Fast, Second. With no vibrato. is that how you set yours???

  • @herbseitzer There will always something to bother about, that's true. My Hammond is a '66 Redcap from England A100. Procul Harum used a M102 with a approx. 6886 setting. But this always depends of a lot of things. The sound is more important than the setting.

    Enhorabuena!!!

  • Perfection.

  • unbelievable ,and the drums arent that bad either

  • Can I make a compilation with this video?

I'll add guitar and vocals (if they sound good)

  • @bmh3333 No problem...it would even be better with real drums. I'll wait for the result..

  • @HammondDomein I can do drums. But it'll take a little bit longer. I'd say give me about a month or two.

  • Brought tears to my eyes - perfect!

  • Kocham ta melodię,mogę słuchać i słuchać...I love this melody,very,very good

  • MeRickennacker, a lot of people on Hammond_zone swear it was played on,I forget. M102, C, or A. But it really doesn't matter. I can make my B3 sound just like the record. On the "B" preset.....On, Fast, Soft, 2nd. With no vibrato. Is tha guy playin' an M 101?

  • I'm actually trying to find a stax tune played on organ, a pure instrumental I liked when I was a kid... can't find it, don't even know what it's called or who did it... any way... in my sombre mood I found this and very pleasing to listen to it is. no voice, no words, just the soul of the sound...thanks... I like it a lot. well played and many blessings to ya /replay

  • kære Hammond player,,wow-wow-wow-wwwwwwwwow, I love your played...from Denmark, I am crazy about Hammond playing, Love gurliorganmusic

  • Canadian

  • Very good, thanks.

  • Daaaamn I love those slides with the fast leslie, makes my spine tingle.

  • Congrats from france =)

  • You are the king! man I would kill for your playing skills!

  • Best Hammond sound I've heard on YouTube for WSOP!

  • Two thumbs up from one organist to another! Great work!! :)

  • congrats from new caledonia (france)

  • CSUDA

    Best

  • Really amazing!

  • I don't suppose you'd consider posting the backing track, without your totally awesome organ playing? I'm trying to learn this too. :)

(Hey, where did you find useful sheet music for this song? I couldn't find any and have been learning it from the record)

  • You nailed this beautiful part. Nothing more to say. :-)

  • Great rendition of a great song! Keep it up!

  • so, so beautiful!!

  • You have totally nailed the sound and feel. Awesome and just beautiful, keep on rocking!!

  • really good!

  • "You sound and are Playing this Beautifully" -[But Please lose the Drummer /Machine..]

  • @DYNODRUM It's about the organ! Maybe some day.....;-)

  • @DYNODRUM - Yes blow the drum machine up

  • @MrRickenbacker67 My first Youtube post is the same piece without drums! Afterwards I made soms advantages on recording the organ! This is surely not about the drums....I wish I could record real drums! The recorded midi piano is better, the drums are also played on the "keyboard" as time keeping...no good indeed:-)

  • aweaome!!! loved it!! so much!

    Thanks for sharing, dommarko42!!

  • You really got it ! congratulations. I got it too, but my goal is simulate the B3. clic my username and search "THE BEST ORGAN vst B3 Maestro - A whiter shade of pale". I also perceived the need to increase the 330 hz ; my back track is excelent, and I sing too.

  • Very very good !!! Congratulations !

  • beautiful

  • Cool. I love this tune! Well done!

  • One of the best cover I ever heard on youtube.....it sounds absolutly close to the original......congratulations...I would like to play as well as you do.....

  • hello ... I am from Denmark, you playing that tune very good.... kind regards gurli......gurliorganmusic

  • Thank you for this, so near to Matthew Fisher's original sound... and to my knowledge, we never got the notes for the original organ voice to AWSOP; most notes are the same as the lead voice.

So I suppose you listened and learned, and when I practice this song, it is nearly the same notes as you are playing so well.

And in addition, i agree with jmitchB3: A very small UP (wrist-jerk) before the down-glissando -try it, it IS dramatically different....

Thanks again, keep up the good work..:-)

  • You play like the original, bravo ^__^

  • Congratulations from France !!! Thank you very much.

  • The best presentation of this song on youtube! Congratulations!

Veramente bello!

  • Ah...I'll probably STOP playing this song...in shame of my lesser performance. :-/

    Excellent...for real.

  • @WingsofNorway Never stop playing! But you won't:-)

  • @WingsofNorway IF HE CAN DO IT SO YOU CAN DO IT BROTHER, DO EVER NOT STOP! KEEP PLAYING, AND I BET YOU CAN PLAY LIKE HIM SOME DAY.

  • @MrRuaAyengin

Thanks for the vote of confidence dude...this tune, sound and feel is one of the most "real" sensations in my time, and seeing and hearing that this lives on is great!

"Music makes the world unite, a true chaos arranged in perfect harmony."

  • absolute megaexellent! totally professional! - thanx

  • Very nice cover ....I'd like to play as well as you do.....

  • oh my god that was perfect made my day!!!!!

  • the notes dont match to what he's playing

    good tho

  • @spawnscapeconrad I think there is a slight sync issue with the fingers and music. Also, I believe he is using the foot pedals for some bass runs.

  • I'm from a family of musicians and I'm telling you you play very well. I really like your "sound" BTW, nicely done!

  • This is fantastic. Do you have the sheet music and if so would it be possible to send it to me?

  • Yes its not bad at all he`s got some talent we all should respect everyones own way.

  • The best perfomance I've ever heard

  • VERY NICE JOB.WELL DONE I GAVE YOU A LIKE AND A BIG HAND.

  • 100% the best player off een hammond turningwheel, on yoube ,a whiter shade of Pale

    Johnny (netherland/nl)

  • Great job Sir!! Keep go an!!

  • WHIT THIS MUSIC I BEGAN TO SING IN A BAND HERE IN SÃO PAULO/BRAZIL

I THINHK IN 1968. ITS LIKE BACK IN 60 YEARS, GOOD TIMES, GOOD MUSIC AND VERY GOOD FRIENDS THA I KEEP TILL TODAY AND TOGHETER WE PLAY PROCOL HARUM AND OTHERS BIG SONGS AND SOMETIMES WE CAN SEE SOME PEOPLES FALLING TEARS WHILE MY BAND PLAY THOSE SONGS 60 YAEARS. THE DREAM ISNT OVER........EXCUSE ME MY ENGLISH. CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOU AND FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THAT LIKE GOOD SONGS. THEY ARE FOREVER......NOT LIKE TODAY...ITS VERY SAD

  • Man...you are kick'n ass!

  • There is no better organ than a Hammond, B-3

  • @dustermouse - I agree but a whiter shade of pale sounds much sweeter through a spinet than console. The harmonic foldback is too much - much rather hear this on a M100 with the reverb wired to the leslie. Still praise the B3, C3 and A100's.

  • The best cover I heard this far of Matthew Fishers organ theme from the song Whiter shade of pale.

  • very well played love to sing along

  • A question; What drawbar settings do you use on this one/ Just asking.

  • This is the best cover in youtube !!!

However, have you got the partiture??or you know the song by yourself??

If you have it, please post a link or a pdf...Thanks!!

    Very nice Hammond!Very nice Organist!!

  • Congratulations this cover is greath ...

  • Better than original!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • holy shit!!! you nailed it !!! finally can sing to it!!

  • Great! At the VERY end, you'll want to go more UP to get that cat-like growl. It's a wrist-jerk upward the keyboard before you glissando down/up again.

Did you have the perc set? If so, what was the setting? You definitely nailed the sound - perfect!

    Very good, brother!

  • @jmitchB3 Thanks..I can't go more "UP"...but i figured out that it's better to make the glissando upwards with both hands. Maybe I'll make sort of ultimate recording..interesting piece of music!! My Percussion setting is: On/soft/fast/2nd It depends on the organ/mics/distance etc. if this setting will provide the right sound. I have a "redcap" Hammond A100 with a 145 Leslie and sE4400 mics, Logic Pro and Logic....

  • I almost wish i took Organ music class Instead of classic on my yamaha concervatory piano... I know nothing. So beautiful it is. tnx.

  • You really did a great job on this song!

  • My god.. thank you so much for an excellent music, like the song very much.

  • genial una excelente versión,

  • Out FUCKING Standing..

  • WTF? does that sheet have 3 staves?

  • @kaputasri organ music usually does have 3 staves: for manuals and pedals.

  • had to go play along on my t series hammond a 72 you have a great sound. Hey every one wanting a hammond check out your craiglist got mine there cheap. Bro. Anthony Paul Niemiec

  • Right Song: Right Organist: Right Organ

    Thanks for this!

    Translation;

I listened it for 3-4 times in a row now, Divine!!!

  • Great version, thank you. I have never been able to get that sound, not even close. I thought I had never the right leslie/reverb combination to get such resonances. I will go home, fire up the real thing and see if your setting work for me (147 leslie, transistors sorry!). Will report.

  • grat very very great... it's beautiful!!

  • Great, this is SO beautiful - as my wish will be respected this will be my last farewell...

  • Ahhh the mighty B3 in all it's pristine glory! THANKS for posting this - memory lane!!!

  • @lastdaysguitar Oh oh - sorry - not a B3?

  • @lastdaysguitar No worries...the A100 is mighty too as you can hear:)

  • @HammondDomein Sure is!

  • Why does the leslie speed change by magic?

  • @Jillybowman Because my Leslie switch is in the middle...It's also possible by footswitch, but I didn't mount one.

  • The best cover A Whiter Shade of Pale on youtube;)

  • this is beautiful playing....love this song.....sounds like the original..excellent my friend

  • Great job, I really enjoyed that.

  • I love the Hammond organ sound i have to say im hooked its the most beutiful sound i ever hear by the way im a little biased because im a player hee hee

  • I am so pleased to have found and heard this .Thank you so much for the wonderful expression of this timeless classic.Superb Sir !

  • It sounds like the original recording, like an exact replication of the organ part to me. Bravo.

  • Fantastic,well done

  • I love your performance of this song i just wanted to let you know im an organ player my self and i really enjoyed it i love playing the hammond organ and hearing it i never get tired of the sound,

  • 2 of 2 She said, "There is no reason And the truth is plain to see." But I wandered through my playing cards would not let her be One of sixteen vestal virgins Who were leaving for the coast And although my eyes were open wide They might have just as well been closed And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face, at first just ghostly, Turned a whiter shade of pale
  • Excellent!! The lyrics of this song 1 of 2: We skipped the light fandango Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor I was feeling kind a seasick But the crowd called out for more The room was humming harder As the ceiling flew away When we called out for another drink And the waiter brought a tray And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face, at first just ghostly, Turned a whiter shade of pale
  • great, but, I-myself would not touch electronic so called piano, me'll feel...um... kind of cheap-shoot, cheating, so me may pass that one.

  • @CaraC3xDPPxWbless I don't like piano's :P A real Hammond seems enough because of the title;-)

  • Comment removed

  • @HammondDomein - I couldn't/cannot be more careless about title, now, from one musical-artist to another, just take listen/enjoy the introduction music, reminds me Tchakovsky's Piano Concerto No.1. Indeed, me don't even want to know the vulgar part as long as the introduction music is this perfect. not purposely try to be offensive since artists naturally raise above from vulgar psycho lie's :D, :P.

However, you treated and interpreted music wonderfully, bravo.

    Elaine-theRainbow

  • Just brilliant, a really faithful cover

  • Excellent performance and quality A/V.. thanks you.

  • This is perfect in its simplicity. Thank you for posting!

  • good!,good!,good!,from Japan

  • Excellent . . . . Best cover on y'tube of original, I think.

  • Magnificent!! Well Done!

  • i love this song so go on

  • Oh long live the 60's, this is music and a prayer. Thanks for playing it!!!!!! A thousand times. How many loves how many lives, how many years...

  • I Think I broke my replay buttom at the Slide part :D

  • P.S. What a great tune ..... composed by two members who ended up in court quibbling about who had the rights to the composition ... the court awarded equal rights and so it should have ..... played like this (Matthew Fisher's input) it stands as a classic in it's own right .... yet played with piano, voice and no organ (Gary Brookers input) it works just as well too. Amazing? Bach would be proud!

  • At last ... after much searching .... decent rendition from other than the band!

  • the best organ part conform with original recording, thanks!

  • Well done ! Was played beautifully !

  • Beautifully played.thanks.

  • I have never ran across a Hammond with three switches. I know one is for the Leslie speed, one is for switching between the A100 speaker and the Leslie. Can you tell me what the third one is?

  • @pastro2 that's for running the reverb though the organ and/or the Leslie speaker. Very nice feature!

  • This is one of the few songs I could listen to over and over and enjoy it just as much every time.

What a great performance. No doubt you inspire others to try to learn to play.

Personally, as a result of listening to this I am looking to upgrade my organ.

Thanks for bringing enjoyment to everyone that listens to you!

  • very nice

  • definitely the best cover on youtube :D

  • Great! What Leslie is that? I'm with a touring band and I sold my B3. Too big and heavy to set up 3-4 times a week. So I went with the Hammond XK-3c with a Leslie 145. Very happy! Still have my sound without backache lol

  • I recalled that mother had always been playing this tune.

  • Are you really playing the bass, I don't see any drawbars pulled for the bass?

  • @protectionman you are right. But I got used playing pedal over the years. I play exactly the same bassline which I midi-ed in Logic. That gives me the right feeling.

I don't have a midi pedal. The original organ is without pedal.

  • Comment removed

  • where did you buy this sheet music?

  • @bashamosan I didn't buy sheet music...I learned the song by myself.

  • Absolutely bloody brilliant. I love this song. You are a credit to this song well done :-)

  • I wantttt your organ!!!! I hate todays samples and midis!

  • Very good!!!!

  • Don't take this off your site. I am trying to learn each little detail and this is the best video I have seen that just has the correct organ part.

  • Now this is good, my head is humming to the tones, and vibrations!!!!

  • This is the best song ever. Love the B3 organ!!!!

  • This is great.

  • I am jealous !!!!! why i donnot play like you?

    Great !!

  • I am jealous!!!! why i can´t play like you

    Great !!

  • It is true!!! Only and nothing more than true!!! I realy like it very, very much. Congratulations :-) A big hug from Brasil - Little John - Tape Deck Band.

  • Very, VERY nicely done!!!

  • You sound great but I could really do without the sampled drums.

  • @iamblake you're right; it's all about the organ;-)

  • @HammondDomein I agree with iamblake.... it would be nice to hear it without the drums or any accompaniment.... I'm trying to learn it too on my C-3 at home..... you're playing an A-100, isn't it? Great sound and playing indeed, thank you very much for the video!

  • @HammondDomein while I agree with @iamblake that sampled drums can, as a general rule, be done without, I find this backing track unusually good – dynamic, with interesting fills – so much better than the soulless machines that you usually hear in such videos!

  • fantastic!

  • Amazing. just amazing.

  • To just close your eyes and listen, it's very hard to tell any difference from the original recording. I use to sing this in a heavy metal band in Atlanta years ago and it brought some great memories back from some really great performances. Thank you for sharing. God Bless !

  • very good job indeed

  • Lovely...great phrasing and intonation. Just great!!

Gracias y muyy feliz San Valentin..

  • this is my fave song i play it on my keyboard

  • Sounds Great

I am looking at a B3 and 122 tomorrow to purchase

you got me all pysched up
