@flashdancebabe this story was his return when they hired him back. Prior to this appearance, he was on OLTL in the 80s when he first introduced the character of David Renaldi.
To be healthy it's truly priceless. it's so touching a storyline that OLTL wrote for Michael Zaslow. i never forgave GL for the way they abruptly and coldy fired him for becoming ill with ALS. Gl's excuse for firing him is one of many reasons why GL deserved to eventually get canceled. It's sad that ABC nowdays under Disney corp is going on the cheap and canceling OLTL daytime drama fans need to revolt execs are nickel and diming TV especially daytime dramas.
these scenes were so moving....Dorian broke my heart when she said "my dear, sweet, beautiful, talented and remarkable David." as she gently stroked his hair--Robin Strasser was amazing during this, as was Michael (the way he conveyed David's emotion was heart-wrenching)
I'm reading the book Michael and his wife Susan wrote together about his ALS and am *appalled* at the shabby treatment he got while on Guiding Light! They deserved to be cancelled! What One Life did to restore his dignity is what GL should have done! Just shameless!
@McFly64 You think GL would have giving Him a great farewell, but they shove him off, oltl gave him and the disease some digenty and respect and show people with disease can be strong
The day Michael Zaslow came back to OLTL was the day I started watching. Thank you OLTL for letting MZ get his message out there. The best actor daytime has ever seen IMO.
Absolutely! And I remember this when it originally aired, too. I remember thinking how brave everyone involved was in tackling this, of course esp. Zaslow, and Robin, well, she is just so damn powerful in anything she does! I can imagine how difficult it was for her with her good friend. It makes me remember them together in the earlier days ... When he left "Guiding Light" and then he came to OLTL, I thought we were pretty damn lucky to have had him!
okay, crying really hard now! Robin is amazing! Dorian's compassion is overwhelming and bringing me to tears! David's emotional breakdown -- phew! David and Robin still shine so well together!! Amazing, heartwrenching scene!
Yeah I remember watching this live. These scenes moved me deeply and they still do. I was thinking how proud I was of OLTL, Zaslow and of Robin Strasser. The scenes I am guessing must have been difficult for Robin as they were with her dear friend. I am glad that Zaslow had the benefit of the joy of acting during these days. He was so good at it.
Was he on years ago as well, I though I read that one life hired him back.
