@juiey2 With your first point, you may argue he makes it neccasary we use a LGL, but honestly, if you watch Will vs Rich Brown, you'll notice other characters can definitely abuse the ledge too, I think a LGL is neccasary for the game to be balanced, not just MK.

Secondly, he doesn't fuck up the community, people just whined and whined cause they couldn't figure MK out or are lazy and just don't wanna deal with him. This applies to your third point too.

And for your last point about Brinstar/RC. I honestly don't think those stages should be legal for competitive play, they're obviously very gimmicky and I believe the Unity Ruleset DOES have them banned in its stagelist, so it's gone now anyway.

Speaking of stages/ruleset, I think we should just use the Apex 2012 stagelist/ruleset. Nietono got past all of USAs MKs and OCEAN beat M2K. MK is FAR from broken with a proper ruleset.

Most of their losses were caused by hot'n'cold and/or technical mistake.

Everybody fucks up no matter how or when.

MK is an overused character, has no weaknesses and more then 1400 people use him according to last year's research.

@juiey2 To be fair about M2K, I believe he choked vs OCEAN and doesn't know the R.O.B. MU and he DOES have Olimar problems, but what you're saying about the US MKs losing cause of tech flaws is untrue. Watch Nietono vs Nairo in winners, then losers. Nietono adapted fast after only playing him for two sets..

With RC/Brinstar legal, I DO agree that MK is OP. Like I said, I think we should use the Apex 2012 ruleset and MK won't be AS dominant. He's still the best character in the game though.

Most of the players use metaknight because they know if they don't use metaknight, they are not going to win, just tell me how many times have you seen metaknight on winners before that you'll see what's my point.

He is definatelly winnable AT SOME DIFFERENT POINTS OF VIEW but it was better for the community to have him banned, because characters like samus were getting extinct from the boards.

You see how many characters people use on UMvC, MK and SSF?

@juiey2 I'm not really a fan of fighting games, just Smash Bros., so I have no idea about anything about those games you're trying to compare to.

And the thing is, Meta Knight ISN'T broken in Japan their top 2 players are 9B (Ice Climbers) and Nietono (Olimar). Look at the stages they play on, only three, SV, BF and FD and 10 minutes to make time outs very unlikely. Removing that many stages from USA is crazy, so for now, we should just use Apex's ruleset and possibly a 10 minute timer.

90% of the tournaments had the top 5 maining or secondairing metaknight.

14 votes for yes and 0 for no were made on the committee, that is composed by the most experienced players.

Now, marios, luigis, sheiks, links, ike, bowser, ganondorf and all of those big small boards can shine!

LOOK AT THE STAGES. Many people switch to MK cause if you're playing against an MK and they win game 1, you're pretty much screwed cause they have RC/Brinstar game 3. With those stages gone, MK will make winning SETS a lot harder than just securing it with one game. Continuing this in another comment due to character limit.

Luigi's only REAL bad match-up is MK, so I give you that Luigi will be viable, Sheik had a better MU vs MK than a lot of characters anyway, she's viable either way. No Ike does well except for San anyway, so Ike will be somewhat more viable. ICs arguably the new best, rapes the rest of that list.

Listen, japanese and europeans metaknights CAN'T COMPARE to american ones.

God is my rock once said, that Orion got 2nd at a national beating Leon in LF then got like 65th at a New Jersey regional. He's one their best MKs and he's only good, not great. Same with Japan, their MKs just don't compare to ours who have brought the character to the absolute brokenness he can be, got it?

Ally, M2K, Nairo, etc. I can give the American MK's the benefit of the doubt that they weren't playing their "best," but saying Japanese MK's can't compare to American ones after Apex 2012 is really, REALLY ignorant (Otori isn't even their best player >->).
