@bigbambo0m -- Considering the fact that Jurgen Prochnow, who played Duke Leto, is German and that his native language contains a phoneme which is somewhat similar to that of the Arabic "h", that is indeed rather strange. Properly spoken, both the Arabic "h" (magh-di) and the German "ch" (nikht) are pronounced toward the back of the throat using the soft palate to produce a harsher sound than the typical English "h". That being said, the German "ch" is harsher than the Arabic "h".

ya thats what the Alan Smithee name is directors use it when they do not want there name attached to the movie but they have to have a hearing with the directors guild to prove they did not have creative control, the Directors guild of America stopped using the name becuase of a movie Eric Idle did about a director named "Alan Smithee" who could not get his named removed from a film becuase the fake name used by directors was his actual name

This movie works without the music and quick editing as evidenced in all these cut scenes.David Lynch did great.

@phoboskitty well sort of Lynch.... He didn't like the way they cut the movie for TV so he decided to disown this version
