Because the USMC doesn't use the M4 assault rifle. They use M16A4. And every other branch uses the Mossberg 500. So we won't get confused at all but good looking out.

BB guns almost always shoot under 700 fps and the projectile diameter is always .177

Pellet guns can shoot over 1200 fps with projectiles from .177 and can be as large as 7mm

bb refers to the size of the projectile, in firearms BB is exactly .180",

for example 00 buck shot is .33"
