Typical liberal ignorant and bias media. Always trying to nitpick at the small things because they have nothing else. Pathetic. What was even more pathetic is Obama debating against McCain. He seemed pretty desperate. Even though McCain ripped Obama a new one, the media wont portray the events that way. Do some research and quit listening to old hags that know nothing.
This is just another example of how biased NBC and all its other stations are. Keith Oberman is just putting his left spin on stuff. Reporters should go back to reporting and stop trying to think they can tell us what we think.
His wife is the Chair of Hensley & Co, one of the largest distributors of Anheuser-Busch, is it any wonder how they can afford it? Its nice how they overlook the fact that he was tortured for five years on a almost daily basis and had his arms and legs broken repeatedly and reset without painkillers. How rich is Obama? He is getting millions from different corporate companies and lobbyists do they look at that? no. Whenever the media tries to shove some one down your throat you know its bad.
I don't understand this class envy. This guy sounds like an idiot trying to sound sarcastic while going through McCain's house inventory and making it look negative. Obama and Michelle are working their way up to becoming multimillionaires themselves and they got their nice fancy house now, so who cares. Don't forget, McCain married Cindy and signed a pre-nup. Cindy's money and houses are far from the Maverick's mind.
People who bring up his homes are demonstrating that the Republican claim that only their opponents are "elites" is absurd. They guy's been a senator for over twenty years, and his father was an admiral in the Navy.
How is he not an elite?
Obama was raised by a single mother on food stamps, and he got where he is by actually working hard and having talent. Mccain rode his war hero story to the Senate, and maybe to the White House.
Twenty years of service and a military lineage doesn't make you an elitist. Being tortured for 5 years doesn't help either. Tell me, how did the poor guy made it into, not only Columbia U, but Harvard as well? It's your relationships like Barbara Streisand, Matt Damon, Robert DeNiro, a Saudi Prince, etc, etc. From the streets of Chicago, fast tracked to the presidency of United States. Wow!
That is one of the dumbest responses Ive ever read. Youre not actually implying that Obama being supported by Matt Damon got him into Harvard, are you?
Ad if Obama is going to be supported by an actor, at least De Niro can act, unlike that douche Cuck Norris.
You're right. It does read dumb. But if you don't read my response "dumb" you'll notice that those 2 are not the only people I mentioned.
I agree, Chuck is not a good actor. But I'd check my own achievements before calling someone else a douche. Because if Mr. Norris is a douche, what am I? Let it sink in a bit.
I give up. If you insist, he must be elite. But even if he actually is elite, he didn't use this status to avoid the service or extended torture in Hanoi or the Senate. Even if McCain is an elite, he's the kind of elite you can count on and trust in.
It's not John McCain's fault that his party runs on pseudo anti-elitism, but he could leave the party - and then promptly lose any election he enters. That's an ethical decision he could make.
Kind of like choosing to cheat on your wife, another missed opportunity for the worl's best person.
look i agree that any american can buy as many house they want this is the USA. but this explain why he is not in favor of the middle class and lower class getting a taxes break
Man, I forgot we were living in the USSR where income and property are to be equally distributed? Silly me, I thought I was in the USA. If I had enough money to buy shit loads of houses I would to, and so would all you hippie fuck faces.
Actually, this is to respond the McCain's remark that he called Obama out of touch with the "real" American people. He doesn't know what the working class go through on a day to day basis, and especially those struggling to make it by, day to day. Oh, and if someone does respond to this, don't put the bullshit down where he was shot down because he loves his country and wasted 5 yrs. as a POW. He was an awful fucking pilot who was shot down twice before.
@NCOMUSCLE You dolt. The point isn't that they own property. It's their hypocritical mud-slinging. "obama is an elitist" Obama has money, he writes books!" Yeah, obama made his money producing intellectually valuable material. McCain made his by funneling federal money to the companies he owns stock in. And lobbyist gifts, don't forget that. So think before you speak next time man. The man (McCain) is a lying scumbag elitist. Much more so than Obama. Being tortured doesn't justify it
My personal view is that a healthy & sane person recognises when they have enough material possessions that gaining more isn't going to significantly improve their quality of life, and then focuses their energy on other things. I know that the ideology of US capitalism is another valid way of looking at the world and wouldn't want to suppress this. But making wealth a criteria for participation effectively stops anyone who doesn't measure success in terms of how much they have getting involved.
And the argument that all other presidents have been rich so that means it's a valid criteria is even more foolish. It's not that being wealthy is bad - the problem is that unless you're amongst a tiny proportion of the population that can be classed as mega-rich you don't have a hope of becoming president. This also limits the pool to people with a certain range of values, people who don't fully endorse the idea that you should do all you can to get as rich as possible as basically excluded.
Also the point is that when he was initially asked he didn't even know how many properties he has. I would think America would want someone who at least has a basic grip on their personal affairs as a president. But the bar's been considerably lowered.
The argement that being rich helps you understand the economy better is so unfathomably stupid that I don't know where to start. There are plenty of ways to understand and engage with the economy other than milking it for personal gain.
That is not what keith is getting at, there is nothing wrong with being rich, but McCain has been telling families that its their fault that they cant pay for their mortgages and accusing them of not doing enough. How many families have taken second jobs to help pay for the rising costs of living in america? A president should be sympathetic towards his citizens and try to help them, not live in expensive houses and condos and sip vodka while the rest of the country is living in shelters...
I agree avw. I mean, why would you want a poor guy to be president. If you are rich, then this means you understand the economy better. Almost all of our presidents have been wealthy. And Obama is just the same. They're both rich as hell. And there is nothing wrong with that. For some who ask why he has so many houses, well I figure it's because he travels so much. And even if he has no reason. Who gives a shit? This is a dumb arguement.
This is such a dumb issue. Is Teddy Kennedy a bad man because he is wealth? Liberals have no problems praising him. Or what about Bill Clinton and Hillary? They're pretty well off too. Obama is pretty wealthy as well, considering he has had multiple bestsellers. Politicians do not have to be poor to be effective.
evw it is a dumb issue! But this just shows the ignorance of the mccain campain. Did you get what the video was getting at? "When McCain calls Obama "elitist" and "out of touch", it's a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black."
mccain worth 100 million how...how the hell do he feel ur paine at the gas station how do he feel your paine when u gettin kicked out ur house or your parents kicked out no place to go...oh yeah did i mention no affordable health care come on people lets make this change god bless america OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!
Isnt the point of capitalism to become successful? Why is everyone say mad that McCain and his wife have done well for them selves. I am proud of his success
SUPER-condo. Awesome. Can anyone explain seriously explain to me why McCain would need this many houses, including 2-3 condos in the same building? Am I missing something?
I'm not standing up for him, and I'd never vote for him, but you're definitely missing at least one (simple) point: he can make money renting out properties that he owns but doesn't use.
McSame thinks that, if you own XI HOMES but you are a war hero and you're wife is wealthier than you, you're not an elitist. Yeah, he's not out of touch!
Oh no, he is not out of touch... how quickly he realized that it is better to dump his wife since was in bad accident and no longer looked beautiful... Why waste life with ill wife if you can ditch her and get a younger and richer one? Why said he wasn't strong in economics?! lol

This is not reporting, Keith is not a reporter. He does not purport to be one either, his degree is in "communications" (whatever that means).
If you think this is what reporting looks and sounds like, youre a fucking joke and you shouldnt be giving advice.

Not quite sure who really is out of touch with America?
One guy who can't remember how many houses he has because the wife keeps buying them.
Or, a collage educated idiot who thinks he's been to 57 states and one left to campaign in.....
I sure hope those extra states come out for Obama this November, because he'll need every one of them if he "hopes" to win!
