I knew that he wrote it and originally performed it, though I didn't know he preferred the UB40 version, which I have to admit, I do prefer more. Kind of like the story of Johnny Cash performing the song "Hurt" which was originally written and performed by Nine Inch Nails.

Oh yes; I do remember this wonderful song done by him. The original 45 single I heard on the radio back then had background vocals in it. This one here is the LP version. I have yet to find the single cut anywhere.
