HOW TO REPAIR A BROKEN NAIL

Guys I also had an accident but with an acrylic nail that broke in half vertically all the way up.. My real nail was also broken underneath REALLY BAD. It gos about half way up to my cuticle. Just in 2 pieces so I don't know what to do to it- I cant really glue these two... Anybody that can help would be so appreciated there are no words to explain the gratitude.

@hoylelisa I've had it before, actually last week. i wear the teabag method, it work well. but after all, i have to let my nail go, breaking half down my nail. it even have blood. u wanna keep it as long as you can. but when it break in the cuticle, it does have 1 layer out, but the other one stay on. It now growing again fast. Don't worry. but you really wanna keep it out of the chemical out some first hour, if it have blood. but just calm down. and gud luk. plz reply

tea bag work perfectly for me ... i had broke my nail same deep as you did .. i couldn't cut it so i used a tea bag patch ... first time i did put some nail glue, but it didn't work fine ... second time i just used nail hardener and tea bag patch ... just perfect

I just broke my nail too, my index finger. And low like you so I can't simply cut it off. I'm trying the teabag method, hopefully that helps secure the nail. I am really sad though, my nails are about as long as yours and I was very proud of them and I really enjoy doing nailart. I'm especially bummed because the holidays are only a little over a month away and I had so many great ideas. If I wasn't so selfconscious of how people would judge me, I could probably cry...

For those of you who are wondering if you can use clear nail polish - i think it's sooo much better to just go buy some nail glue.

I watched this tutorial about 3 weeks ago and used clear nail polish instead of glue but the rip started to show again (and eventually break again) quite soon, but then I bought some nail glue and redid it, and it looks great - I can't even tell that it's broken (as long as you buff your nail properly afterwards)

@GothicBarbie001 You don't remove the tea bag. What I do is apply some nail glue on top of the crack on your nail and hold it in place for about 30 seconds until it dries. Then, you apply a swatch of teabag material and apply it to the damaged nail with nail glue. Let it dry then apply another layer of nail glue. When it's dried, you can use a buffer to smooth it out.

Hi! How do you get all of your nails to grow the same length? u dont have to buy a whole kit for repairing a torn nail

my mom's recently got torn and i told her to put a small piece of teabag paper over her torn nail area and put some topcoat on..... it dries instantly, is transparent and lasts a long time... it works perfectly

like rip the bag apart so you just get a super thin sheet, and then you use clear nailpolish and just kinda patch up your nail :)

@marilynalfieri1 you need, cuticle oil, hydrating base coat, and nail harding/growth polish. By doing that should make your nails grow, i've been using nutra nail and olive oil. Those have made my nails extra strong and grow.

I've tried so many different things to repair my nails. Tapes like that usually don't adhere well and start coming off after some days if not sooner. I've tried kleenex tissue and it breaks back. So far the method that I found best and stayed on for longer is really the tea bag thingie =)

i didnt buy nail repair kit. i just took a little piece of sellotape, removed that sticky layer from it and applied some super glue on it and put that little piece of sellotape with super glue on the broken area of my nail. 2 weeks have passed and my broken nail is still long and strong! =)

if u purchase an OPI crystal nail file it will definitely remove length. i think ur crystal nail file is a cheap version so its not as good.

I always use glue too .. and you know i messed some nails up during the move lol and they are holding up well with glue.. but yeah nails break but the great thing is that they grow back over time. I hate when mine broke and I broke more than one like you lol. Oh well.

you can also repair your nails with tissue paper.

like the stuff you use for gifts.

i do that method to all my nails when i take off my acrylic. it helps the nails stay stronger so the damage can grow out.

you put glue all over your nail

cut a piece to fit and place it on your nail

then another layer of glue on top

you can do as many laters as u like

then buff to shape and shine

The good thing is that nails will grow back. Kinda like getting a haircut you don't like. Hair always grows back too. Still, I am sorry about your nail. I wear sculptured acrylic nails so a break is no big deal for me. Keep the videos coming. I love the nail art! :-)
