I presume random encounter calculation happen too fast thus too often maybe cpu grab can be of help.

In Fallout 3 the story is oh your dad left go get him, oh hes dead... uh go kill the enclave now kthxbye In Fallout 2 its the village is dying OH NOES So you go to Vault 13 and get the GECK, then go back to the village seeing it destroyed, THEN having to repair a tanker and go to the Oil Rig having to blow it up. Plus without Wasteland, Fallout, and Fallout 2 there wouldn't be 3 or New Vegas.

Why does he play Fallout games in the first place if he doesn't even have the patience to play through the first dungeon? And the way he created his character clearly pointed out that he had no clue which stats actually mean something in this game, which are int and cha. If you play with a dumb character in this game, others will treat you as one and you will only receive dialogue options suited for your intellect.

Try running it in Window 95 or 98 in Vista/XP virtual machine, if its the black box one, the one where you must move your mouse all over the screen, then open a full screen menu and it should get rid of it.

Its slow paced at the beginning (Temple of Trials) but depending on how you play it, you should get a different experience.

Read a guide on the internet about how to play a certain type of character and pick your stats accordingly.

Mmh I'm a bit disapointed, ya only scratched the surface by showing only The Temple of trials. It's pain in the ass but rest of the game is epic. Fallout 2 is awesome game and I recommend people to atleast try it! Don't let the graphics fool you!

Oh believe me, I got to the end of Fallout 2, and it is one of my favourite RPGS of all time, up there with Gothic 3 and Drakan: Order of the Flame.

The Temple of Trials is a bit of a lame start, not even a tutorial. And moreso, who made it? Isn't the Fallout universe the year 2070 but as envisioned by the 1950's (so lasers, robots and jets but still same houses and fashions)

It is a slow combat system. And most of the times you miss, and the other enemy misses, like in Runescape. I played through the beginning quests. And I still couldn't find my self picking up the fun, like everyone else is getting. I got a pistol, and the combat system is boring. I just think the whole game feels slow. But I still don't understand how people pick up with this game and think it is fun. I bought the game (sadly), and it wasn't fun. =( No Offense Interplay.

I couldn't believe it but, as soon as I reached out of the nooby levels, when my character can make decent shots with the gun, and more cities to explore, and getting my first recruit (Vic), and the story became to unravel where the Water Chip thingy in Vault 13, I STARTED TO ENJOY fallout 2!!! I couldn't believe it! All I had to do was force my self to play the early bad parts of the game and level up to the good parts of the game! =D =D =D =D
