Short Term and Long Term Disability Claims are crap - it's easier to get SSI/SSDI than it is to get these insurance companies to honor a claim - it's like pulling teeth to get approved and once approved it's a constant battle with them they're always trying to deny you or worse yet sue you and get what they paid you back. They do NOT care if you're sick and dying - they only care about figuring out some kind of way to deny you - it's a SCAM!!!!!

It's amazing that we live in a country in where Wall Street doesn't have to beg the government for their $750 billion bailout money. But when it's some poor schmuck who has a debilitating condition applies for long term disability, they literally have to go through all the hassle of getting their doctor's verification if the patient who's applying for disability is really disabled. Then the applicant has to go through 3 years of appeals because their initial application was denied, etc.
