  • Have any of you heard of the book " Soldier's heat? " It is about the Civil War. In the book the main character said he saw people he thought got shot in the Civil War.

  • Awesome stuff!! Have you had the tape analysed by professionals to get a definitive answer??!!

  • That's awesome! My family and I lived near Bull Run when I was little and hiked there a lot. I had what I believe was a paranormal experience too. We were walking down a hill and stopped at a bench to rest. My sister and I saw a man in a uniform on a horse up the hill staring at us. So we ran up, which was only a 10 second run, to say hi and he was gone. There was just a empty open field and no soldier in sight.

  • if you did not see that woman in your lense that means ur naked eye didnt see it.

  • wow you didnt see it through the naked eye but its on camera wow that is amazing looks real

  • I was standing kind of right in front of this house and looking the opposite way this person was filming and these people I saw were maybe 800 yards away. Someday i hope to learn who they were.

  • @odanak100 at the 12 second mark, that is where I saw them behind the Union battle line i guess.

  • she looks pretty human to me.....

  • Like I posted below, I know what I saw, it was summer, right around this time of the year, 3 - 5 people dressed in long , completely white garments/dresses , it was unforgettable, in hindsight I should've hiked over to where they were.

  • i have been to manassas, this very spot. NO ONE is allowed near or in the Henry House, and the only time reenactments occur is when they have entire union and entire confederate armies act out the whole battle... its not like they have a reenactor living there to make it look more real. no one lives there, the only people at manassas (bull run) are tourists, and guides, that is seriously it there is not many people there at all and certainly no actors in the henry house.

  • It could be a reenactor. I'm suspicious because he didn't keep the camera still and pan slowly.

  • @Threadster12, as they can be viewed in the beginning of this video near the tree line. I too was facing Henry House when i took my photo from behind Jackson's Gun Line.

  • @Threadster12, the battle when confederate forward observers used her house as a scouting/sniping post due to its being upon a high hill top over seeing the Federals Avenue of Approach. She was the only civilian casualty of the 1st battle for bull run. The black fenced in area (as said by the poster) is where she herself is burried. I have had my own experiences with cold mists on a hot VA day on the wooded paths, along with orbs in a photo i took close to that same area (Jackson's Guns)

  • @Threadster12, i must be the devils advocate here, i lived in Manassas for the better part of 2 years and visited the battlefield with my dog almost every if not every other day, and whilst there is many opourtunities to view re-enactments, the majority of the time there is only people there to visit, and i have never seen a re-enactor looking like this. Do i believe 100% this is Mrs Henry, not sure, but i can verify Mrs Henry was a bed ridden old woman who was killed by federal shells during

  • It was a weekday, like early afternoonI think .too, I then thought the explanation was that they were from some kind of a church. They were moving as a group from walking one spot to the next.

I didn;t hike over to get a closer look, but it stuck with me - yeah they wre definitely there & whenI saw this posted, I figure there must be a connection.

  • Almost 20 summers ago I visited this battlefield with my wife. I was standing near this Henry house , and way over on the other side of the field, I guess it was towards Centerville I saw a group, (like 4-5 ) of people dressed completely in white, full length dresses or whatever just like this. Being it was in the high 80s, they caught my attention, I wondered if they were re enactors, what were they representing, dressed all in white,

  • This is another scam.. Just like one of the previous posts says; there are actors walking around in these outfits all the time. Who knows, the person who took this video probably set it all up including paying the woman to put her on video.

If he panned back and she was gone, thats a different story...

  • Well, im not sure if i beleive in ghosts or not. but i paused it, and i do see a shadow on her face from the bonnet shes wearing. tht doesnt mean its a ghost or not.

  • Whoever it i s is clearly wearing a dress of some kind. Does that make it supernatural? No, it just looks like a woman walking across a feild to me, and I'm a believer. Don't give up, keep your eye's and minds open, the truth is out there!

  • i definitely didnt see "slacks" i think its legit, theres no shadow and i paused it and saw her face and dress clearly.. superb find!

  • All paranormal skepticism aside, It seems to me that the subject in question is clearly wearing slacks, that is, proper pants. I'm pretty sure women of the mid 1800's never wore such garb, ghost or reenactor... just sayin'

  • Now if you had panned back to the left and the women was gone then just maybe it would add some weight to this maybe being paranormal. I hear what you're saying but any skeptic would use the same argument. I hope to visit this summer.

  • I am not saying you faked this video. In fact, I believe you are genuine when you say you didn't see her. But firstly, you were panning so quickly it's understandable you would've missed seeing her. Secondly, she looks quite real. Thirdly, as a former Civil War re-enactor, I can assure you that there are many costumed interpreters who work during the summer months at these historic sites. So to see someone in period dress walking around a historic building at Manassas is nothing unusual.

  • LOL

  • this is nothing just some woman walking in old costume next!

  • Great video have you noticed that the woman I'n white is transparent towards the end of your video? And yes you do see a solute walking away from a grave looks to be a woman. Possibly the woman I'n white...

  • looks to be gettesburg man.

  • It's a lady walking on the path from the Henry House to the Visitor Center. Sudley road is just on the other side of that fence. It's probably the busiest spot in the park because the parking lot is right there.

  • this is the best video ..shot of a ghost...

  • The best time to go ghost hunting ( i believe) is during the anniversary dates of any battle at a battle field. Many people have caught video and evp recordings during those proper dates

  • i go to gettysburg all the time and i see ghosts when i ride my bike on the battlefeild at night

  • @worldindustriesfreak WOW ARE YOU SERIOUS THAT CRAZY I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A GHOST ONE DAY WHERE IS IT AT

  • @vdfgsrthsrt yeah man dead serious

  • just some lady

  • No matter what that was it ws cool! I was i Gettysburgh last year, even walked some of the battlefields at night' never saw anything thouh!

  • man that was wahck i saw a ghost looking at me in gettysburg but i did not get any thing like that i have seen ghosts all my life. that is cool man

  • If you pause it right when he turns the camera off of her, you can see right through her, explain that skeptics.

  • I herd the place was haunted

  • I live in manassas and am very familiar with this civil war site.... the area he is filming is HUGE...

    Very cool! Thanks for posting

  • Wow.

  • Unfortunately you didnt' pan back and follow the person in question. No way to make a determination if this is paranormal or not. Although you said you didn't see this person in the viewfinder that still isn't enough proof that you simply missed it.

  • Notice how he starts out filming slow and then at break neck speed (makes my eyes hurt) gets the camera over to the house and then slows down to catch the ummmmmmm.........ghost, on film. SOMEONE MISSED THEIR CUE, and you had to make sure you got it filmed before they got out of camera shot. Why wasn't the camera taken backwards as fast as it was forward....hmmmmmmm. Again someone missed their cue. Nice summer stroll for a ghost who knows how to keep the sun out of their eyes. Nice bonnet!!

  • Hard to explain my "look" theory lol, but if anyone has ever encountered residual type hauntings, it might make sense. They just have this look to em that you know what you saw was there, but it wasn't supposed to be there and you can't really make out an exact face or profile but you know it if you've ever experienced this.

  • My experiences with what I like to call "out of place" entities(because they obviously don't fit in with surroundings) such as Civil War entities etc is they have this "look" to them such as this above. Seems pretty realistic to me IMHO.

  • I really am a sceptic , but I had an experience at Harpers Ferry VA that to this day creeps me out . Don't know what it was , but it was not normal

  • @LittleChicagoLiturgy lol i completely agree with you on that one lol the chances of seeing a good politician are probably 1 in 2 billion

  • i belive in the paranormal.

  • Comment removed

  • Dam that place has so much history went there and was awesome but did not see that lady at all haha

  • @LittleChicagoLiturgy

Hey dude, you're free to believe what you want. I never refuted that ghosts exist - I just argued that video can be manipulated quite easily, and therefore, this is not adequate proof.

Take the popular show "Ghost Hunters," for instance. Millions of people watched that show, and believed with absolute certainty that the videos they aired depicted genuine paranormal activity. Later, it was discovered that the producers and directors had been staging the whole thing.

  • @LittleChicagoLiturgy

The fact that you, and so many others assume this video is authentic troubles me. Why do people believe everything they see on the internet is absolutely true? It's really a dangerous habit to get into.

This is kind of a fun video, so the fact u believe in it is of no real consequence. But suppose this was a political ad, and u blindly accepted all the information simply because it was on youtube? U need to ask more questions before jumping to a conclusion.

  • @LittleChicagoLiturgy

Are you really trying to bust my balls? Your inferences are hilarious. You write, "I don't think this is Mrs. Henry, as she was 85 when the battle took place. This woman appears to be in her 30s or 40s. I would say Rose O'Neal Greenhow is the likelier candidate." O.K. Mr. authority on Civil War apparitions, whatever u say.

Has it occurred to you that A 12 year old with editing software from 1998 could have manipulated this video to make the figure seem translucent?

  • @LittleChicagoLiturgy

Or, an even likelier candidate is some reasonably priced editing software. You people are so damned gullible.

  • If you look carefully, you can see that when this is paused at either :17 or :22, you can still clearly see the fence posts right through this "person". People in period dress are not transparent! AMAZING FOOTAGE!

  • @wtfranklin32 Seriously? It's motion blur. Everything in the video has the same motion blur.

  • perhaps it was a person dressed in vintage clothing for giving tours as is done at times there...

  • if you pause at 0:17 she has no face you can see straight through where it should be

  • If you stop at 0:22 you'll see a man walking beside the woman. His hat is different than hers. It's a different color too.

  • Oh my god! This is incredible! You didn't see her at all while you were filming?

  • @GBSightings17 not at all. My sisters were on the other side of the white house you see in the video and they did not see her either.

  • @lntroller That is just incredible! Wow. She's so solid! She doesn't seem aware of you either.

  • look like a woman with dress en hat from that time.

  • Pause at 0:22 it looks crazy.

  • So judging on the white house, monument, and battery of confederate guns.. im guessing this is on Henry Hill... In the white house, the only civilian of the battle of first Manassas was killed, while ill and laying in bed when union artillery was shooting at sharpshooters in the windows.

I just went to manassas yesterday and that is what the sign read out front of the house. Hope it helps some.

  • i was here this summer on vacation and saw this video but saw nothing in person

  • im not sure but is interesting to watch. sexy civil war era ghost babe!

  • no ghost. just someone walking. it was missed becasue the camera operator wasn't paying attention. or he was, which is why he swept it a second time.

  • I didn't see anything.

  • Ive noticed something very similar in a gettysburg tour video.

Something runs through the bottom of the screen from the 5.50 min mark

    See what you think.Its at:

It wont let me put a link on here but its the Gettysburg battlefield tour part 5 video..

  • Pretty cool if its the real deal

  • So you didn't see until you watch the video ?

  • I didn't see a ghost but I am experiencing a "spinning sensation" LOL

  • I like this video!

  • Impressive.

  • @nezian1 go to any major civil was battlefield and see for yourself.

  • pause on 0:22 and you can see that it is transparent. i didn't even know about this video until i schedualed to go to manassas on a trip and all of a sudden i thought " why don't i see if this battlefield is haunted?"

  • I saw 2-3 individuals dressed in long white clothing just like this one at Manassas

maybe it was late 1980s, they were way across on the other side of the fields, maybe 2/3 mile off. Never mentioned it before I assumed they were from some church or something, but I watched them for a while, they were close together. Never forgot that day because my fife miscarried later the same day. June or July

  • fake- set up

  • To me, it look like a ghost to me! All you gotta do is look over in dat field. WHO ALL SEEN DA GHOST SAY YEAH!

  • @LevineAndrew Yeah!

  • Comment removed

  • The woman looks to real to be a ghost. But if it were, I'd say it looks like a slave woman to me.

  • I didn't see a dang thing. waste of time.

  • Wow you guys can't take a joke. This obviously is not serious

  • I'm dizzy after watching this video!

  • I'm not saying this is true but my aunt does civil war reenactments. This is what she told me many years ago.

She said that a few of the re-enactors during the mock battles would see "personages" or "ghost. cheering them on and or marching with them. Once again I am not saying this is true I'm just saying it was told to me. Has anyone else heard things like this?

  • I did reenacting for a few years also. How'd they know they were ghosts & not other reenactors?? As for the "lady in white", her clothing doesn't look like the right time period for the Civil War. It looks more Gibson Girl-ish from the early 20th century. The old hospital @ Manassas Battlefield is supposedly haunted. Several park rangers have told stories about their experiences. Used to live near there & while walking in the woods @ the battlefield, I heard musket fire.

  • I don't see anything going transparent... It's just a person walking...

  • Jackjeckel81 is right. The object gets transparent at 22. REALLY QUICK though

  • How the hell did you miss that with the camera.

  • boscogump haha stupid skeptic, go back to your make belief world of science and continue to ignore the obvious

  • my sis got a pic where her friend was in his room, where apparantly sum confederates dies, and you can see you pic where a soldier is standing str8 up lookin at you wit his musket. scary

  • i have been looking for this video for so long ever sense i saw it on the maury show that ghost is in a drawing in a ghost book that i have and the book is a little old so that is wierd

  • haha "ghost hunters"....

  • it"s so strange, i mean in europe are more battles fought and still i havent seen a ghost, while in the usa, they have few battles fought and they see ghosts everywhere..... strange

  • @eyederrick thats what happens when you live in a capitalist country, people try to make money off "ghosts." not mention the memory of dead soldiers. When there is nothing unique about the way civil war soldiers died compared to WW2, WW1, Napoleonic, French Revolution, Spanish Civil War, 30yr War soldiers.

  • @TigerRifle1 , in WW2, WW1, Napoleonic, French, Spanish and 30 year wars, men were not fighting their brothers.

  • @TigerRifle1

Bullshit, my family lives in the NC mountains and their is letters in our family archives of how my ancestors fought each other at Gettysburg, Manassas, and Fredricksburg, documentsvshow that their regiments were actully there and most likely fired shots at each other

  • Comment removed

  • Facing family in combat was not rare, my great great great uncle C.B Latham was in the 1st Regiment North Carolina Infantry, My great great great grandpa William Latham was in the Loudoun County Virginia Rangers, in the battle report by Col. D. H. Hill it says that these regiments met in in combat at Sharpsburg and Harpers Ferry most likely my ancestors met on the battlefield because both of thes regiments were small by this time in the war, my facts are correct sir so look them up if you want

  • haha, i guess he checked my facts, no reply to that one eh tiger

  • Comment removed

  • There's lots of documented accounts of family members fighting eachother.

  • Just as the camera pan across to the right on 0:22 you can see she goes transparent! it very quick tho

  • fake!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it could be a ghost .....or it could be a person wearing white just walking along. oh well we'll never know lol

  • i was sitting on one of those cannons a few hours ago. haaaaaa

  • lol la yorona cross the border shit

  • what the fuck i live in manassas you guys make it look bad, turn the fuck around and you'll see the city, manassas isnt sum country place with a couple houses

  • 0:22

  • ....i dont see anything lol

  • nevermind i see it ... i was looking at the wrong part of the video. lol since you were basically turning in a circle i didnt know what fence you meant i thought it was the last part of the video ... but anywaysss

  • looks fake but could be real. is to be known to be one of the most haunted paces in the world

  • it looks ike she starts to become transparent as she gets to the end of the fence. very cool!!

  • cool but couldn't that just be a person walking right there?

  • yea it is cause he doesnt say anything

  • Could it possibly be a person who works on the site and dresses like they did during the period.

  • yeah but she supposedly wasnt there when they video taped this

  • A good paranormal place to go is the unfinished railroad in manassas, it is the area where Lee's men were brutally slaughtered by Union soldiers. supposedly you hear voices and feel someone grabbing at your ankle.

  • .23 you can see through her nice catch

  • Two thoughts on this video.

    1. The sceen is obviously a setup. Panning fast to the right of the house, where ther's no person, then waiting at the house for the right moment, and panning to the left along the fenceline just as the person walks, with a slight delay at the person on both occations.

    2. Saying that you didn't see the person but it was caught on tape is unfortunately a classic and makes it just a bit doubtful.

  • This footage is directly off the video camera I used. The only editing done was to splice the clip

  • great video editing work.. what program did you use?

  • shouldn't she be in a wheelchair? or motorized buggy

  • shouldn't she be in a wheelchair? or motorized buggy

  • Whoa, it's wierd watching it on the 148th anniversary of the battle!

  • I think it was just a tourist...

If ghosts were real, then hospitals and hospice rooms would be filled floor to ceiling with them.

  • they are

  • there are hospitals that are considered haunted.

  • i'm starting a team of investigators to find out about these happenings. want to join?

  • I live in VA just dont got no vehicle but i would be wanting to join your group.

  • you dont need a veichle lol we're investigating on the net

  • I would love to join you on one of your hunts, depending on the locations.

  • Where do you live?

Me and my friend Kyle are local ghosthunters.

  • looked like just another tourist walking the grounds unless the camera swung back and videotaped the woman disappearing.

  • i couldnt see it

  • ¬¬

  • Hey there really are ghost out there.....If you go out to a certain spot after dark ...there is an old slave church ....and you can hear the slaves singing hymns off in the distance but there's no one inside

  • More than likely, residual haunting.

  • he was moving the camera really fast, so it could look fake. at 0:18 the figure looks the same as any other object on the screen (everything looks double).

  • cool but couldnt it just be a real person walking there?

  • Yep.

  • i was there. i was really cool.

    yet creepy.

as soon as we saw the gravestones by the house,

a cold wind blew over us, and dark clouds came up, and it started a misty rain....

    :/

  • Pretty cool. I don't see any evidence of overlay. If you are thinking that because of light and shade change, I think that it might be caused by the jerky circling of the camera.

  • Analiyze this all you want, but this is one whole video that I went back on a couple days later and noticed the white figure I hadn't seen while on the battlefield. I have no knowledge of overlapping "ghost screens" or whatever you mean. I am just sharing what I found interesting and to possibly be a ghost, as I truly have no other explenation.

  • im not over serton on this one sorry but if you believe thats all that maters good luck in the futeare bye

  • Being a digital tampering spotter for a company I can not name. I wil say that this video has the classic earmark of tampered evidence.

At 0:18 there are signs of a "ghost screen" overlay. For a second you catch the offset of two videos interlaced. It appears as a fine white haze that is slightly out of center with the original piece of work.

    Possibility of being fake. 50%

  • It's pretty cool how you can see it again when the camera goes back. Typically ghosts manifest for a brief moment before dissapating, so it's a really cool find on your part.

  • ive been there befor and ive seen loads of ghost there before

  • Good one! If he would have seen her the tendency would be to steady on to her. Its only natural do do that, because it's out of place- the figure- wihich by the way is very wimsical. go back and forthv on her. nothing is solid, vague...you know.

  • Some people refuse to belive even when shown eveidence. No coincidence, these non believers usually dont believe in God as well. Anyways, I have visited this battlfield about 4 months ago. When you walk the path between the house and the Stonewall Jackson statue, you feel alot of electricity in the air. My wife and I both felt it. Have never seen anything though. Yes, I believe the apparition was real

  • That could be anyone. Someone visiting the place, someone trespassing etc that is not a ghost. Trust me, I know one when I see one.

  • you "know one when you see one" huh?! idiot

  • When I first saw this I actually thought that the women in white was a historical actor, but if they say no one was working, that's pretty crazy.

  • I would have noticed it in my lense of the camera. Just don't know....

  • i think this video is authentic. Nice capture.

  • Thats crazy..if you would of saw her, you would of more than likly said something about her.

  • Cool video

  • cool video, but its not a woman in a dress. when u first see it walk, you can see two legs.... unless shes wearing a mini skirt lol.

  • then again it could just be the video quality after it was uploaded... its still cool though

  • looked like col. sanders

  • me n my friends snuck there at night we heard gun fire n d yelling of like 100 men im never ging back there
