My thoughts on 'Speed Racer' were similar to my thoughts on 'Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones'; Boring and a bit lame towards the beginning (Though the Spritle and Chim Chim moments were great), but picking up greatly around the middle (Right around the time Speed goes on the dangerous cross- country race), and leading up to a finale that is AMAZING!

My favorite part was probably when the group fights off the crime boss's gang, I really felt like I was watching a live- action anime then!

This just an awesome mix. Loved the movie and they pretty much kept to the original anime. Great Job in my opinion and I grew up with the Speed Racer back in the early 70's. This was a cool movie.

This is actually a good adaptation IMO, I mean, sure, it wasn't JUST like the cartoon, but the Mach 5 was there, the music was there, the characters were there, they even looked like the original ones, not to mention the "fighting" scenes, and such.

Unlike a certain piece of shit pf a movie adaptation of an anime about 7 magical spehres.

I didn't hate this movie, but I didn't love it, either. It's just... there. I was never a huge fan of the series which is probably why I wasn't offended by the movie. But the Wachowskis suck so I knew going in this wasn't going to be a great movie, and was moderately entertained as a result. Some of the effects were nifty, some were annoying, but the movie as a whole was just... okay. It would be entirely forgettable if not for the effects.

You are the only other person who has mentioned this. I told everyone don't bother, the end credits are the better than the whole movie...only part of the movie I enjoyed. Fantastic music. I have hated the Wachowski toilets.oops I mean 'brothers' since that ghastly embarrassing movie trilogy they made a few years back. When they got Speed I groaned but hoped they might not botch it. They did. But thank god someone took the end credits out of their hands!!
