at mathew 24.45 christ speaks of a faithfull and discreet slave that will be on the earth in 1914 by 1919 that slave class was found by christ.he didnt find them in the churches because they were blessing the bombs in world war one.on finding this slave class christ would spiritualy feed them and they in turn would feed the rest of the anointed class on earth and by 1935 they were to feed the great crowd.feeding the two classes of people comes in the form of the watchtower awake and and meeting.

I'm a former JW. Excellent comments... I've studied many different religions since leaving such as you. Including science I know what irreducible complexity is, and could argue differently with you on that point, (If I wanted) My point is not by any means to contend with you on that at all! But to admire someone of the same mind as I.(That of being of your own mind!).. There are so many things wrong with the Watchtower's teachings and practices. You don't needto be "DISFELLOWSHIP FROM THE CONGREGATION" to see that.
The Watchtower is currently conducting an all-out war against former members. The July 15, 2011 issue of their magazine called their apostates "mentally diseased". They demonized former members more than they demonized Satan himself. It's the Watchtower that needs to get "off the back" of its former members.
I can appreciate where you're coming from. I had an inconsistent up bringing as a Witness. I also went back as an adult and tried to raise my kids to learn Christianity through the Watchtower & Tract Society. I deactivated again over 10ys ago. I know the difference raising kids in and out of any organization. JW don't put any harsher expectations on members than other religious organizations do. I've learned a lot of hard lessons by thinking that Bible related restrictions were ridiculous.
You think kids make good choices just cuz you teach them right and wrong and they know better? Adults don't even do that! I tried to teach my kids Bible principles without any religious org. But they were getting more of their attitudes from the world around us. We're no closer because we left JW's. Like most of the world my kids are lost. Now I'm looking for that place where people are talking my language and not a part of Satan's brand of Christianity. But I'm not expecting flawless anymore.

@SpecialPioneerSmerf Jesus said the world would be FULL of false religion right before he returned and the Kingdom is established (Matthew 6:9,10,25:31-46). In Matt.7:13-15 Jesus states that many would be on the roadway to destruction, only a FEW would be on the pathway TO LIFE. Vs.21-23 says many would cry out to Jesus, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy and perform powerful works in your name?" They would be destroyed as they were false. Daniel 12:4 says truth restored (JW's) at time of end.
@eternityandforever BTW 'day for a year' the Watchtower did not invent that, they borrowed just about every teaching from other religions and sects. And the math is still wrong for the calculations leading to 1914, not only do they not include leap months from the Hebrew calender, they also got the fall of Jerusalem on the wrong date, it was 587 not 607.
And you still have provided no proof to the claim of the WT men that Jesus chose them in 1919, lets see the proof and evidence to the claim.

Oh, and 1914 was prophesied by CT Russel to be Armageddon, not Christ invisible return, that was made up 30 years later. @eternityandforever the door to door mean from family to family or person to person..ALL CHURCHS do this by video, radio, speaking to people, flier, etc - all this is preaching and reaching out. In fact I do not think there is a literal DOOR TO DOOR preaching example in the bible. How else do you think church's fill up?

@eternityandforever and you tell me this, are the other churchs empty then? no - the churchs fill them with doing preaching through radio, flyers, person to person, tv - etc - which would be considered door to door. Door to door does not mean that you literally are knocking it could be any of the other references.

@Qherolina - The problem is, the Watchtower has a .000 batting average when it comes to predicting the end time. They said the world system would end in 1914, then changed it to 1915 then 1918, later 1925, then 1975, then "before the end of the 20th century" (a quote from one of their books in the 1970's). They've cried wolf so often it's hard to take anything they say seriously.
I'll say straight up that many who aren't JW's are respectable, good people. I dare you to say all non-JW's are bad.

@Qherolina - I agree that Jesus said only God knows. That's why the Watchtower shouldn't have been in the date-guessing business. They started their magazine in 1879. In their 1/15/1892 issue, C.T. Russell wrote: "the battle of the great day of God Almighty The date of the close of that "battle" is definitely marked in Scripture as October 1914. It is already in progress, its beginning dating from October, 1874."
In 1911 the Watchtower magazine said all religion would be destroyed in 1914.

You may have heard how another end-time predictor (Harold Camping) recently predicted May 21 as the end of the world but now moved it back to October 21. Similarly when Armageddon didn't come in 1914, the Watchtower kept moving it back - to 1915, 1925, 1975, before 2000 and now "soon".
@Qherolina - Many people in different centuries believed the end was coming in THEIR time. Religious people gain wealth and influence by saying "the end is very near". They wouldn't gain wealth or influence by saying "the end is 150 years away, at least".
The "signs" like wars have been happening all throughout history. Last century two world wars happened, the last one over 60 years ago and the end didn't come. Every century, people believed the signs applied to them. It's no different now.
@cooper79jeffr But the thing is that we are not trying to gain money out of this ppl we just want them to know the truth. And sure there might have been wars before but now the greatest earthquakes in history are happening,the economy isnt getting any better n ppl dont listen to the tue god.

The greatest earthquakes in history were the 1960 Valdivia, Chile earthquake (9.5 magnitude) and the 1556 Shaanxi, China earthquake which killed over 850,000 people. Earthquakes always have and will happen because earth's plates move - scientific fact.
@cooper79jeffr Havent you noticed that we have not sold our watchtowers or awake! or even bibles. sure we try to encourage people to donate money so that we can build more kingdom halls n stuff but we dont go around like catholics asking everyone to give money so that they can use it for their own benefit. @Qherolina - The Watchtower and end-time groups want you to believe everything is getting worse, and they only empihasize the bad news. In actuality we haven't had world wars for over 6 decades now, the general trend in crime is downward, and even teen pregnancy is at historic lows.
But to keep fear alive, they must continue to try to push the idea that the world is "going to hell in a handbasket". However that doesn't reflect the truth of the matter.

Poverty - this has been a constant problem throughout human history. Even Jesus said we'd always have the hungry with us. I don't think poverty is increasing globally. Economic globalization has in fact raised living standards in Africa and Asia in the past 20-30 years.
Global climate change has also been cyclical in the big picture, with ice ages and warmups. It's too soon to know whether current climate change is catastrophic.
@Qherolina - I have nothing against a JW coming to knock at my door. It's their constitutional right. Also I know it isn't an easy thing to do.
I just have problems with religions using fear and the idea that everything is terrible, and that their brand of religion is the only possible solution. I don't buy the spiel. That's all. Some do -- and fine with me, people can believe whatever they want.

You know certain sales people in this world will enrich themselves by creating a need people didn't know they had -- stirring up anxiety over what may happen if people don't buy their product, or selling the idea that you will be ahead of all others by buying a product?
I think religion is much the same way. They create fear and anxiety (the world is ending, you need to be "saved") and then sell their particular solution (their brand of "real" religion)

@Strangerinasland - The Supreme Court of the U.S.A. has several precedents in favor of Jehovah's Witnesses being able to use people's doorsteps as their pulpit, and to do it on a Sunday, and to do it without paying any licensing fees. These rights are well-established.
Of course people have the right to turn them away, nobody has to listen to their spiel. Also we have the freedom to come on the Internet and expose the Watchtower for being the charlatans that they are.
@Qherolina . In fair comment, the “Watchtower” Magazine, January 1st 1986, page 13, admitted that immoral practices were rife within the Organization. Even some of their most prominent people were involved in Homosexuality, Wife swapping & Child molesting. Apparently according to the Watchtower, in the previous year no less than 36,638 people had to be disfellowshipped, & a great number for practicing immorality. I reiterate the Watchtower-January 1st 1986 page 13.

@Qherolina - The Watchtower has lots of money in investments and real-estate holdings, accumulating tax-free because of their status as a religious organization. Yes they do collect donations at Kingdom Halls and assemblies, and also each year the Watchtower publishes an article telling multiple ways to donate.
If you Google "Teen Pregnancy Rates 2011" the first item you see is a February 2, 2011 Washington Post article saying "Teen Birth Rate hits historic low". So no, lately I've seen less.

I think it's quite provable that you and I exist. However God is not provable -- that's why it takes FAITH to believe in him. Even the Bible says that.

@77blitzwing - Yes many JW's are nice folks, as are many people in the non-JW world. My problem with the WT Society's is its history of control and deception. The leaders are like Pharisees, with a long list of endless rules - many of which harm innocent people.
I am happy as an atheist and not just because I want independence.. I just don't see God's hand in anything -- innocent suffering and greedy prospering. It's not a question of whether God "can" exist; I just don't think it's likely.

That is not so true I'm a JWs and my dads not I still see him and my cuzs there mostly not JWs and I see them I go on holiday with them there still family. People say that JWs cant see there family if the not JWs and we have got free will to watch 18s movies if we feel that's ok. It's not how they say it is I'm a JWs and I am happy to be one. And PS. My dad is split up because of other resons and I see him 1ns or 2ce a week so...
@WhatdidIgetwrong - JW's are not allowed to see any former members who were announced from the platform, even if they are children or parents (unless it's a case with young children living in the same house). My parents cannot associate with me or they risk being cut off from their JW congregation.
Your case is different - your dad is just a regular non-JW person. Still, the Watchtower tries to portray all non-JW association (even relatives/family) as potentially dangerous.
As someone NEW to studying the bible and also studying with other denominations, the JW'S seem most by the Bible of anyone else...Jesus DID say to preach the word. Cant argue that. They are out to promote Bible Reading. I know Calvary Chapel wouldnt do that.

@cooper79jeffr Yeah, I talk to Catholics all the time. Caps are used for emphasis,too. I grew up Catholic. They didn't teach the bible. They taught things that the bible says don't do like don't call anyone Father on the earth (we called priests Father) Matthew 23:9,"Moreover, do not call anyone YOUR father on earth, for one is YOUR Father, the heavenly One." Catholics teach to pray by rote, repeat prayers over and over. Bible says no. Matthew 6:7,"do not say the same things over and over..."

again, i don't think your a basher and will say one thng. JW are not perfect. some maybe be a little strong in their ways that scare off some. others have wrong in their ways, those are removed or talked too. but again, we are imperfect and all we can do is follow the guide lines that the bible teaches us (and i have read the bible 3 times already) and worship jehovah (god). we are neutral, non violent, kind hearted folks (well true JW). we're not out to kill you.
@echelonarmy1 If a baptized child doesn't agree with the men of the the WatchTower Governing Body, (lets say the child doesn't agree with the Generation doctrine that has changed over a dozen times now) what happens to the child?
Will that child be shunned and isolated by family and friends?
rebellious personality, i understand now completely. again, everything we're taught, comes straight from the bible. the society doesn't just make stuff up. now further research, we use other bibles besides our own. why? because they are all the same. except the koran and the mormon. now, i've been to other churches (catholic, so called christian) with friends just exploring. about 95% of the time, no bibles were used. some times, not at all. where are they getting they're facts? i was re-established and rejoined my fam and friends, because i proved that i was truly repentive from my sins. not, what you refered to as censoring, i'll give you an example. those censorships are like guide lines to keep us safe and away from stumbling. just as the government sets laws (traffic laws, taxes, no murdering, etc) are set for our safety and to set order. you may not like em all but you know they're there for a reason and its for your benefit. and for a guy that has a (C)
df'd. by 20, by my bad association, i started fornicating, drugs, cursing, crazy partying, and run in with the laws. My folks were sad with my life style and as some refer to SHUN. it sucked but what did i care, i had awesome friends and a crazy life style. well that all got old and i wasn't happy. than I came back to meetings as a df'd and regained a relationship with god my self. no parents, no elders, all me. no communication with fam or JW friends but i view as a punishment. but a good 1 (c)

@graemealee also I like your some of your views on these matters, the compassion view is very true but sadly no one cares for anyone nowadays and there is no compassion except from a small amount of people compared to how many out there dont give a damn if they saw you getting attacked robbed or even raped. After leaving the Jehovahs wittnesses for over 12 years and trrying to maintain a marriage and raising children on my own regard without the influence of jehovahs blessings has been a disaster. Any time i have gone with the grain of the worlds influence i have been dissapointed, cheated,misguided. Withen the simple council provided by the bible many of my lifes despairs would have been eradicated. Now I humbely go back to my roots knowing the difference seeing first hand!

I remember when I was really little I asked my dad why girls couldn't become elders. I don't remember exactly what he said but it was something along the lines of the husband is the head of the houshold. It always stayed with me that in a JW society I would never be worth as much as man. That was what led me to question JW teachings and realise they were not quite as perfect as they would lead me to believe.
@FallingSilverLeaves - Hello. I think the JW's rules against women as elders reflects their strict application of Paul's words "I do not permit a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man." The way that JW elders are assigned to judge rather than just teach, there is no way they could let women be elders. However in my experience when I was JW, a lot of the women were better organized and more compassionate -- and could have been very good elder/teachers if not hemmed in by the rules.
@FallingSilverLeaves - Did you ever tour Watchtower headquarters? There were lots of opportunities there for single guys, but they (as a rule) only allowed married women to work there. You're right, in the WT organization the most a woman could do was full-time pioneering or else maybe be an elder's wife. They had to "keep their place" -- and I suppose I shouldn't even get you started on the rules about women and head covering.

Thank you for speaking out on this. My brother is married to a wonderful woman who became a JW and is raising her 3 daughters as JW, since my brother doesn't follow a faith he sees no wrongs in it. You speak very clearly and with kindness on this matter. That approach is the best. It is a challenge to stand in the love of Christ and speak about tough issues with them. I almost became a JW and I love speaking with them, but it is very clear that their bible and beliefs are misleading.

I have to say u are wrong... We are not to read without publications. Matter of a fact they encourage us to "read the bible daily" with comes straight from the bible it self. And we can meet in groups and talk about the bible, even without the publications. The publications are strictly bible AIDS, not what we base our beliefs off of.

Look at Isaiah 9:6 "...and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace..." This scripture is the same in the New World Translation and every other Bible, but John 1:1 is changed in the New World Translation with "...a god." Isaiah and John prove what is true.

If you are reading this please start from the fith one down of my post for it is in the order to follow my message. I am not a ex jw, however i was forced to participate as a child up until I left home at 18. I thank God just about everyday for His mercy and grace!!! It is by faith alone that saves us, not works. Works should never come first. The only way to help current jw's to see the light is simply take them to scripture and show them in their bible the truth and pray for them.
Again read prior post before reading this. God is not deceitful God nor would he play some sort of " cloak and dagger", " read between the lines" kind of thing, about who His Son is. If Michael and Jesus were the same then the angel that spoke to Joseph in Matt. would have told hom that. Jesus was the most important man on earth and His Father would have never keeped some sort of secret about the diety of Christ. Rember, Jesus is has the power to be omnipresent, angels do not.
On the same subject of who Jesus Christ is, please read my prior post. In Matt. 1:23, when translated, " Immanuel" means " With Us Is God." In Jn. 1:1, it states, "was a god." This clearly states the contradiction in their bible.NWT. If Michael was an angel before he became Jesus in the flesh, what name does he carry in the heavens. In Revelations 1:1 it states what is to take place(in the future). If you continue to read thru Rev., Michael and Jesus are not spoken of as the same.
In their book " reasoning for scriptures" they state," it is reasonable to think that arch angel michael is Jesus Christ." In the dictionary, "reasonable" is not defined as facts. The bible is based on truth and facts. There isn't a bible out there that clearly states that these two are one. Yes we all know the complete meaning and origin of the name Michael.(Hebrew- who is God like) Angels are creatures of God in the spirit form as we are in the flesh. Satan himself was an angel.
In addition to what I have posted, I would also like to bring up the most important reason why they are "false apolstles and of the antichrist." 2 Jn: 7 clearly states that Jesus Christ was in the flesh after resurrection, not spirit. Not only they beleive He was in spirit form, they also celebrate His death and minimize His birth and resurrection. Who better than satan himself, who would celebrate His death more than the other two. Looks like satan has a strong hold on their organization.
Jehovahs Wintnesses, Who Are They? They claim Matt 24:45 is in reference to their organazation/society. If you continue to read verses 46 and 47, it clearly states "the individual doing Gods will", not an organization/society or any paticular religion. The best scriptures that describe their society is in 2 Cor. 11: 12-15. IT'S A MUST READ!!! True beleivers refer to verse 30 of this chapter! These scriptures are quoted from their own bible and of course mine as well. NASB.

at mathew 24.45 christ speaks of a faithfull and discreet slave that will be on the earth in 1914 by 1919 that slave class was found by christ.he didnt find them in the churches because they were blessing the bombs in world war one.on finding this slave class christ would spiritualy feed them and they in turn would feed the rest of the anointed class on earth and by 1935 they were to feed the great crowd.feeding the two classes of people comes in the form of the watchtower awake and and meeting.

I'm a former JW. Excellent comments... I've studied many different religions since leaving such as you. Including science I know what irreducible complexity is, and could argue differently with you on that point, (If I wanted) My point is not by any means to contend with you on that at all! But to admire someone of the same mind as I.(That of being of your own mind!).. There are so many things wrong with the Watchtower's teachings and practices. You don't needto be "DISFELLOWSHIP FROM THE CONGREGATION" to see that.
The Watchtower is currently conducting an all-out war against former members. The July 15, 2011 issue of their magazine called their apostates "mentally diseased". They demonized former members more than they demonized Satan himself. It's the Watchtower that needs to get "off the back" of its former members.

I can appreciate where you're coming from. I had an inconsistent up bringing as a Witness. I also went back as an adult and tried to raise my kids to learn Christianity through the Watchtower & Tract Society. I deactivated again over 10ys ago. I know the difference raising kids in and out of any organization. JW don't put any harsher expectations on members than other religious organizations do. I've learned a lot of hard lessons by thinking that Bible related restrictions were ridiculous.

You think kids make good choices just cuz you teach them right and wrong and they know better? Adults don't even do that! I tried to teach my kids Bible principles without any religious org. But they were getting more of their attitudes from the world around us. We're no closer because we left JW's. Like most of the world my kids are lost. Now I'm looking for that place where people are talking my language and not a part of Satan's brand of Christianity. But I'm not expecting flawless anymore.

In Matt.7:13-15 Jesus states that many would be on the roadway to destruction, only a FEW would be on the pathway TO LIFE. Vs.21-23 says many would cry out to Jesus, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy and perform powerful works in your name?" They would be destroyed as they were false. Daniel 12:4 says truth restored (JW's) at time of end.

And the math is still wrong for the calculations leading to 1914, not only do they not include leap months from the Hebrew calender, they also got the fall of Jerusalem on the wrong date, it was 587 not 607.
And you still have provided no proof to the claim of the WT men that Jesus chose them in 1919, lets see the proof and evidence to the claim.

@Qherolina - The problem is, the Watchtower has a .000 batting average when it comes to predicting the end time. They said the world system would end in 1914, then changed it to 1915 then 1918, later 1925, then 1975, then "before the end of the 20th century" (a quote from one of their books in the 1970's). They've cried wolf so often it's hard to take anything they say seriously.
I'll say straight up that many who aren't JW's are respectable, good people. I dare you to say all non-JW's are bad.

@Qherolina - I agree that Jesus said only God knows. That's why the Watchtower shouldn't have been in the date-guessing business. They started their magazine in 1879. In their 1/15/1892 issue, C.T. Russell wrote: "the battle of the great day of God Almighty The date of the close of that "battle" is definitely marked in Scripture as October 1914. It is already in progress, its beginning dating from October, 1874."
In 1911 the Watchtower magazine said all religion would be destroyed in 1914.

You may have heard how another end-time predictor (Harold Camping) recently predicted May 21 as the end of the world but now moved it back to October 21. Similarly when Armageddon didn't come in 1914, the Watchtower kept moving it back - to 1915, 1925, 1975, before 2000 and now "soon".

@Qherolina - Many people in different centuries believed the end was coming in THEIR time. Religious people gain wealth and influence by saying "the end is very near". They wouldn't gain wealth or influence by saying "the end is 150 years away, at least".
The "signs" like wars have been happening all throughout history. Last century two world wars happened, the last one over 60 years ago and the end didn't come. Every century, people believed the signs applied to them. It's no different now.

The greatest earthquakes in history were the 1960 Valdivia, Chile earthquake (9.5 magnitude) and the 1556 Shaanxi, China earthquake which killed over 850,000 people. Earthquakes always have and will happen because earth's plates move - scientific fact.
Economies are cyclical, always have been.

But to keep fear alive, they must continue to try to push the idea that the world is "going to hell in a handbasket". However that doesn't reflect the truth of the matter.

Poverty - this has been a constant problem throughout human history. Even Jesus said we'd always have the hungry with us. I don't think poverty is increasing globally. Economic globalization has in fact raised living standards in Africa and Asia in the past 20-30 years.
Global climate change has also been cyclical in the big picture, with ice ages and warmups. It's too soon to know whether current climate change is catastrophic.

@Strangerinasland - The Supreme Court of the U.S.A. has several precedents in favor of Jehovah's Witnesses being able to use people's doorsteps as their pulpit, and to do it on a Sunday, and to do it without paying any licensing fees. These rights are well-established.
Of course people have the right to turn them away, nobody has to listen to their spiel. Also we have the freedom to come on the Internet and expose the Watchtower for being the charlatans that they are.

@Qherolina - The Watchtower has lots of money in investments and real-estate holdings, accumulating tax-free because of their status as a religious organization. Yes they do collect donations at Kingdom Halls and assemblies, and also each year the Watchtower publishes an article telling multiple ways to donate.
If you Google "Teen Pregnancy Rates 2011" the first item you see is a February 2, 2011 Washington Post article saying "Teen Birth Rate hits historic low". So no, lately I've seen less.

@77blitzwing - Yes many JW's are nice folks, as are many people in the non-JW world. My problem with the WT Society's is its history of control and deception. The leaders are like Pharisees, with a long list of endless rules - many of which harm innocent people.
I am happy as an atheist and not just because I want independence.. I just don't see God's hand in anything -- innocent suffering and greedy prospering. It's not a question of whether God "can" exist; I just don't think it's likely.

Your case is different - your dad is just a regular non-JW person. Still, the Watchtower tries to portray all non-JW association (even relatives/family) as potentially dangerous.

again, i don't think your a basher and will say one thng. @graemealee I love fossils & dinosaurs and know enough to say that after scientific research none of them have changed much or not at all for darwins theory to be 100% correct. story of creations history is fascinating but why is it so hard to believe that 2 humans started off mankind when people believe several or one cell started off every specie on earth? or how a negative and a positive appeared from no where and caused the big bang?

@graemealee firstly i do not have a god or a religion but have looked into alot of different religions, politics &science because as with anyone I am trying to find anwsers also i have not claimed or said i know everything you said that.... but I have read alot of books on alot of different subjects relating to religion science and did a bit of studying in politics & i also believe science is a big part of religion and creation & i dont feel qualified to add i just look a lil deeper into stuff.

To furthur my comment. After leaving the Jehovahs wittnesses for over 12 years and trrying to maintain a marriage and raising children on my own regard without the influence of jehovahs blessings has been a disaster. Any time i have gone with the grain of the worlds influence i have been dissapointed, cheated,misguided. Withen the simple council provided by the bible many of my lifes despairs would have been eradicated. Now I humbely go back to my roots knowing the difference seeing first hand!

children who are well grounded with a high moral value for life of others and themselves give them a great basis to make well educated decisions regarding the decisions they make with ther life. So educating your child with a strong foundation well growing up is what any parent does to give ther child the tools of what is dangerous and not. It has nothing to do with locking one in the basement. It is called sheltering your child from hurt and pain, being aware. HAVE A KID! THEN OFFER ADVICE

why do you speak out then? what relativity do you have with the Jehovahs Wittnesses. What is your need to speak out? where do you recieve your info from? you must have a need a neediness to spend time picking apart a religion that you have no educated ground on. I grew up a JW. I left the religion at 16 years of age to "test my own wings" see what was out there. I was NEVER abandoned at anytime in my life. If anything I was nutured with love and respect no matter what descision i made.

@cskead - I have interacted with VanCoffeeChick on other forums and know she was raised as a JW. She knows its doctrine quite well from her own personal experience. You are misinformed to say she has "no educated ground" on which to base her comments.
I'm sorry that your life outside the JW's didn't work out. If you're happy there, it's where you belong. However not everyone who leaves the JW's has the negative experience that you did. I too am a former JW.

Personaly and I'm an ex JW, to me its all about ultimate control, blocking anything and anyone who will allow the person to think for themselves.
If any of it was real and religion as a whole, then it would be able to stand on its own, not have to be protected by censorship, isolation and brainwashing.
I remember as a child, as soon as I showed signs of thinking for myself, I was dealt with!
Don't ask, "Its the devils work" I would be told

I remember when I was really little I asked my dad why girls couldn't become elders. I don't remember exactly what he said but it was something along the lines of the husband is the head of the houshold. It always stayed with me that in a JW society I would never be worth as much as man. That was what led me to question JW teachings and realise they were not quite as perfect as they would lead me to believe.

@FallingSilverLeaves - Hello. I think the JW's rules against women as elders reflects their strict application of Paul's words "I do not permit a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man." The way that JW elders are assigned to judge rather than just teach, there is no way they could let women be elders. However in my experience when I was JW, a lot of the women were better organized and more compassionate -- and could have been very good elder/teachers if not hemmed in by the rules.

@FallingSilverLeaves - Did you ever tour Watchtower headquarters? There were lots of opportunities there for single guys, but they (as a rule) only allowed married women to work there. You're right, in the WT organization the most a woman could do was full-time pioneering or else maybe be an elder's wife. They had to "keep their place" -- and I suppose I shouldn't even get you started on the rules about women and head covering.

Instead I see "Reckless words piercing like a sword." (Prov. 12:18) This isn't giving a good witness.

They disowned their daughter for moving into her boyfriends place. what the fuck. thats gotta be your governing body right there. the watch tower society and Charles Taze Russell are false prophets aswell. shouldnt that be obvious. come on, it's one thing to believe religion, but, for someone else to come along and tamper with it, is wrong. if youre gonna follow jesus do it right.

But in the Greek, the word Lord (Kurios) is equivelant for Jehovah in the Greek translation of the OT. So instead of worrying about the girl in this video in the Great Trib. you need to worry about yourself for you too, if you're around and if not , you still need to worry before its to late. There are even some Jewish rabbis that have done the same. And in some countries muslims convince their people to blow themselves up. Just because someone is in a religion does not mean he/she is perfect everybody makes mistakes. And if those women allowed themselves to be abused without reporting it. @mydizzymelody - My parents have been JW's for over 6 decades now and are over age 70. They were told they were part of a generation that would live on through Armageddon and then forever. I don't know if they have "waken up", but at this point in their life they really have nothing else for which to live. They were promised so many things by these men at Brooklyn, and none of it came true. The JW to whom you're talking here will likely spend the rest of his/her life passing out WT mags.

Thank you for speaking out on this. My brother is married to a wonderful woman who became a JW and is raising her 3 daughters as JW, since my brother doesn't follow a faith he sees no wrongs in it. You speak very clearly and with kindness on this matter. That approach is the best. It is a challenge to stand in the love of Christ and speak about tough issues with them. I almost became a JW and I love speaking with them, but it is very clear that their bible and beliefs are misleading.

I have to say u are wrong... We are not to read without publications. Matter of a fact they encourage us to "read the bible daily" with comes straight from the bible it self. And we can meet in groups and talk about the bible, even without the publications. The publications are strictly bible AIDS, not what we base our beliefs off of.

@CooperEuphonium Just finding this video, I am impressed that she is kind and thoughtful in her approach. The problem with your opinion is that the Bible that a JW reads is not the true Bible. Look at Isaiah 9:6 "...and he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace..." This scripture is the same in the New World Translation and every other Bible, but John 1:1 is changed in the New World Translation with "...a god." Isaiah and John prove what is true.

There is only one explaination to Whom these words apply to. Look it up in the dictionary. How does it feel pal to taste alittle of your own self. If you are reading this please start from the fith one down of my post for it is in the order to follow my message. I am not a ex jw, however i was forced to participate as a child up until I left home at 18. I thank God just about everyday for His mercy and grace!!! It is by faith alone that saves us, not works. Works should never come first. The only way to help current jw's to see the light is simply take them to scripture and show them in their bible the truth and pray for them.

Again read prior post before reading this. God is not deceitful God nor would he play some sort of " cloak and dagger", " read between the lines" kind of thing, about who His Son is. If Michael and Jesus were the same then the angel that spoke to Joseph in Matt. would have told hom that. Jesus was the most important man on earth and His Father would have never keeped some sort of secret about the diety of Christ. Rember, Jesus is has the power to be omnipresent, angels do not.

On the same subject of who Jesus Christ is, please read my prior post. In Matt. 1:23, when translated, " Immanuel" means " With Us Is God." In Jn. 1:1, it states, "was a god." This clearly states the contradiction in their bible.NWT. If Michael was an angel before he became Jesus in the flesh, what name does he carry in the heavens. In Revelations 1:1 it states what is to take place(in the future). If you continue to read thru Rev., Michael and Jesus are not spoken of as the same.

In their book " reasoning for scriptures" they state," it is reasonable to think that arch angel michael is Jesus Christ." In the dictionary, "reasonable" is not defined as facts. The bible is based on truth and facts. There isn't a bible out there that clearly states that these two are one. Yes we all know the complete meaning and origin of the name Michael.(Hebrew- who is God like) Angels are creatures of God in the spirit form as we are in the flesh. Satan himself was an angel.

In addition to what I have posted, I would also like to bring up the most important reason why they are "false apolstles and of the antichrist." 2 Jn: 7 clearly states that Jesus Christ was in the flesh after resurrection, not spirit. Not only they beleive He was in spirit form, they also celebrate His death and minimize His birth and resurrection. Who better than satan himself, who would celebrate His death more than the other two. Looks like satan has a strong hold on their organization.

Jehovahs Wintnesses, Who Are They? They claim Matt 24:45 is in reference to their organazation/society. If you continue to read verses 46 and 47, it clearly states "the individual doing Gods will", not an organization/society or any paticular religion. The best scriptures that describe their society is in 2 Cor. 11: 12-15. IT'S A MUST READ!!! True beleivers refer to verse 30 of this chapter! These scriptures are quoted from their own bible and of course mine as well. NASB.

remember that ofcourse we can't hold our child's or witnesses hands all the time but you know and its proven we fleshly men are Imperfect, and because of that us men can not rule ourselves, Jehovah promises his teachings from his slaves, are you a faithful slave getting all your knowledge and answers from the bible. All i can say is that believing that the governing body is directed by Jehovahs Holy Spirit,is the reason we follow there guidence.If it were not for that i would question a few things myself,but if i didnt believe they had gods backing then there would be no difference between them and any other religion.Aside from that i cannot deny the spiritual truths they teach in harmony with the bible,it all just makes to much sense,its not a perfect organization but nobody said it was :)
