  • Astonishingly excellent.

  • Perfect!! Sound and video together.

  • fantastic music from a fantastic band..i love the first 60 seconds of this track

  • one of my all time favorite instumentals

  • I loved how they still use that high pitch bell sound at the beginning in their live concerts ...just as it sounds on here and as axelusul said ,you could skip over this on the Vienna album until you realised on further listening what a gem it is ...ahead of it's time .

  • Album VIENNA my first ever album, still think it was a classic, Astrodynes beginning takes some beating...

  • @axelusul I bought this as soon as it was released and used to skip this track and listen to the others instead, now, 30 years on, I listen to this one only and skip the others!

  • Greatest Instrumental Ever still biring tears to my eyes after 26 years-so powerful and so provacative!!!!

  • Still brings tears to my eyes after 26 years-Greatest instrumental ever made. So provacative! So Powerful!

  • I love this track, as a kid at school I played it almost to death, my friends called it 'the milk bottle song', but no one ever said it was bad. It has never been surpassed.

  • You try being 46yo and first hearing it at 15yo. They're BIGGER goosebumps!

  • Where is the video footage from ?

  • This song just takes me to another world.

  • the best instrumental ever, i can't believe i've never heard this in a movie. They'll be hearing it alot at my funeral one day for sure.

i must hear this at least once a week one way or another and NEVEr get bored of it.

    Great video by the way.

  • At the end of the day Ultravox are Classical musicians with words added!!… that’s why they get better with age…that’s why they never sound dated!! THE GODS!!!!

  • @robcol800 Back in the 80's even the punk-rockers were starving ex-music students, fully classically trained, locked and loaded, itching to out-perform. I mention "melody" and "key changes" to today's youth and they say they never heard of them...

  • @Dracopol I remember when Vox played at my home town in Doncaster 1980, Midge was getting spat at by some disgruntled skinheads, I remember Midge very forcefully and clearly shouting at them to F_ _K OFF!!!! He was not happy!

  • @robcol800 I heard some retrospective show looking at Ultravox's career, a long time ago on student radio, and they simply said "their music was rejected by the punk community for being 'too sophisticated'."

  • Not bad at all!

  • One of my all time fav tracks from 1 of of my all time fav albums.

  • Excellent opener to the Vienna album.

  • I had an Ultravox urge at 14/15 after listening to The Collection - first heard this track in 1986 and it was great then as it is great now! Best group ever!!!!

  • Photograph by gary numan when im about to be burnt and this when they all leave for thi piss up!!!!!!!

  • Opening track of the Vienna album ,reminds me of those long winter nights back in the early 80s and one of the reasons why I had to see Ultravox live then to ...thanks

  • btw the footage equals that of the 'other one'

  • sub lim in al - man what a tune - viva electronica

  • ...can't forget the sensation I've felt when listen this great instrumental for the first time...it was 31 years ago, and I still feel the same sensation...

  • Bless the creative souls of Ultravox that created music to transcend the banalities of existence and share with us the joy of artistic endeavour...

  • When I first heard this track, I was absolutely blown away. It is a musical work of art :)

Astradyne! heard it when i was 1 years old and it changed my life. This is such an aspiralation tune . . ..

  • My favourite instrumental full stop!

  • Brilliant and very apt indeed, Astradyne was quoted by Warren Cann as bein a mix of latin, as used by The Royal Air Force, meanin ''Through adversity, to the star's ....
