During Operation Goodwood (18th to 21st July) the 2nd Tactical Air Force and 9th USAAF claimed 257 and 134 tanks, respectively, as destroyed. Of these, 222 were claimed by Typhoon pilots using RPs. So what really happened? In the Goodwood area a total of 456 German heavily armoured vehicles were counted, and 301 were examined in detail. They found only 10 could be attributed to Typhoons using RPs (less than 3% of those claimed).

I love these old guys, veterans with balls the size of watermelons but they are not arrogant at all. People can learn a hell of a lot from these guys.
These Guys were the Forgotten hero's of the Invasion.
My Great Uncle " flt/luJack Hardy Taylor (182 Squadron) Was shot in the back by the German Home Guard on 28th Febuary 1945 after ditching his Aircraft and surrendering.
Although no member of our family remembers him Alive.
He lives on in our hearts for the courage he showed throughout the war. We will never forget him. we have his photo in our lounge, He is our Hero
This is awesome! I recognize my Grandfather in the photo at 6:24. Unfortunately he didn't make it home, but he along with Mr. Hardy and all the others are true heros. Thank you for posting this!
