Bush authorized LTG Sanchez for the assault without discussing it politically with key allies. Bush received tremendous pressure to halt the ground assault from foreign leaders, thanks to Al Jazeera, covering the negative aspects of the battle. It was a major political(and military) defeat for US and victory for the insurgents. Fighting without thinking.

Actually buddy, the SS WERE fierce warriors, and yes, they were war criminals....as were the Russians. And no, contrary to what you may have been told, they did NOT kill everyone in sight in cold blood. The Schutzstaffel was a huge organization, with many different segments, and branches. The Waffen SS were the front line combat troops, they were not the concentration camp people. I do NOT condone what the National Socialist party did, and I am not a Nazi. There were war crimes on ALL sides....

The regular old Red Army had quite a few of their own war crimes......Katyn anyone? And yes, the Malmedy Massacre was an atrocity, but it happens on all sides. Did you know the incident at Malmedy was followed by the Chenogne massacre in which dozens of German POW's were shot? Sure, war crimes. All sides have em. Granted, the SS did some shitty things, but they still fought hard. I'm not a big fan of what they did, but at least I can admit they were fierce in combat.
