I've read a book called Desperate Glory, an eyewitness account given by a journalist with the 16th Air Assault Brigade. The Scots come into it big time, and there is much talk of these very Mastiff being used in various skirmishes to draw as much heavy fire onto themselves and away from the infantry as possible. I am impressed but saddened when reading the accounts of the soldiers who died. I salute them and their families. I am heading for Sandhurst as a direct entrant in January 2012.

Well done boys, I go to Sandhurst in just under 2 years, joining the cav, should get ti work on Mastiff. I have the deepest respect for anyone who is in the army or is going into the army, even if the government is a load of bollocks, I still believe that this little Island is worth fighting to protect. God bless all the British troops and British people in general (even the chavs) later boys and take care out there. Do us proud!

i was with the mastiffs when they turned up in afghanistan on op herrick 6 they are the best bit of kit we have now they save lives looks like the mines hit by these ones were a bit bigger than the ones we hit sweet vid by the way alot of nice footage
