  • 8 track fireplace.

  • I'm impressed that they would bring the equipment to your house.

  • Stereo Sofa! What more could you want?

  • I'm suprised they were still using the word "psychadelic" in 1974.

  • WC is already taken by WaterCloset.

  • Wow, there was excellent audio in the 70's and then there was that gimmicky stuff. The components they put into those bars and couch stereos were usually stuff along the lines of Electrophonic or Admiral. The leisure suit of audio/video.

  • Must of been the days before "But wait theres more."

  • The fansinating thing is that the sofa is an idea that has come back anybody seen the iPod and gamers chair? With built in speakers?

  • Ahhh, the good ol' days...

  • Awesome video. Keep on with that good work!

  • It's official. I've got to have that sofa.

  • wow!! thats just crazy talk!! lol

  • WOW!! What a deal. I'm gonna call right now :)

    Thanks for sharing

  • oMG I LIVE!!! I LIVE!!! i would kill for a psychedelic 70s disco bar and that couch is a stoners dream haha , dont even have to get up to change the 8track !! thanks for posting this !

  • The sofa one looks fun, and the fireplace bars elegant for the time. :)

  • Stereo sofa! wtf???

Also that stereo fireplace was hideous!

I'm glad I don't remember stuff like this from the ugly 1970's!

  • @albear972

They used to have chair-mounted radios in the 1930's/

  • Oh wow. I'd have expected a place that calls themselves a "sound store" to sell decent stuff. Oh, say Zenith and Sony TVs and KLH and Sansui stereo gear. But no... mystery brand low quality Japanese (or even Korean) TVs and console stereos that were pretty sad even by mid 70's console stereo standards. But hey... free shoddy TV or stereo kicked in with your equally shoddy purchase :D

  • hahaha now you see what kind of stuff they had then was so awesome now today we think it's crazy, a stero built into ur couch hahaha thats funny

  • That's Bob Raleigh #1 (a.k.a. Rolle Ferrar) doing the pitch.

  • WoW!! Neat stuff! 'psychadelic lights' indeed!

  • Thats interesting they sorta do these kind of commercials the same way.

  • awesome units i like the one with the lights, reminds me of that little record player that the youtuber Damusician has with the disco lights thats a cool unit

  • I'd forgotten about those types of stereos. Thanks for posting.

  • WOW I want the couch one!!

  • WOW! $1! Neat 8-track players!

  • when i was 7, i saw that same exact bar stereo at someone house in pottstown pa. i was highly obsessed with it and i thought it was just a set of speaker that you just put you own set of stereo components on the other side, but it was against the wall so i didn't see it good enought. i wanted to hear it play and light up, but the owner wouldn't play it. probaly didn't work or something.

  • I like this, keep 'em coming!

  • omg, i've seen that same stereo bar at someones house before.

  • Whaaa!!

A stereo fireplace! A sofa with built in 8 track? I've never even HEARD of this stuff nevermind seen evidence of it. Yes, the Seventies were VERY wacky.

Keep posting, the watermark is fine. Nobody's making money from this stuff.

  • Thanks WookieCookie for your efforts in posting this vintage material. It is a real education and entertainment to us younger people and for those of us who were adults back in the day then this stuff provides a few laughs and sweet memories. Thanks again.

  • I called that number and some old lady answered...she told me to where I could stick it when I asked about the stereo system with the psychedelic lights.

  • Area code? (Remember this commercial took place in Washington, DC.)

  • The watermark doesn't bother me. Keep on posting!

  • Wow, does this guy have the ultimate broadcast school voice or what?

As for the watermark, big deal. These clips are very rare, of high quality despite their age, and don't cost me a penny to watch. If I have to yield a little bit of real estate in the frame for the pleasure, that's still a bargain.

You keep puttin' 'em up, Wook. I'll keep checkin' 'em out. Thanks.

  • Used to love ALL your vids, but sorry to say, your huge onscreen "bug" is just too annoying, and ruined all the fun. Not to mention the huge year text splashed across a thrid of the bottom (which is really pointless--much like the "WC").

There's no good reason to have to ruin the clips with all that gaudy clutter! Hardly check your stuff anymore (cept by stumbling on 'em doing searches)...and I was one of your biggest fans at one time. Sorry but I had to say it. You've ruined your clips. :(

  • Thanks for the feedback. As I indicated in my comments on my main page, I have reduced the size of the watermark on the NEW videos I process. I do have a number of un-posted videos that do still have the old watermark that I don't plan on re-editing. You can see an example of the new watermark by looking for "1974 PSA Keep America Beautiful". I've had over 1.2 million views of my clips... of those I have received approximately 5 complaints about the watermark.

  • I'm sorry you're unhappy and I'm sorry you feel compelled to deliberately sabotage the ranking because of the screen image... not the content. I spend a lot of time, effort, money and research finding, archiving and presenting these clips. Nothing is more frustrating seeing people grab the content and present it as their own. I hope the new watermark is more to your liking and you'll continue to view.

  • My 2 cents- while I'd prefer people not 'steal' stuff that I've posted, if they do at least that means more people get to see it. I'll never ruin my stuff with on-screen garbage because that makes them less enjoyable for everyone (and I can STILL tell by various quirks in the sound or picture that re-posted clips came from something I posted- don't think anyone's making money off them though).

  • I like the year of the clip indicated...and he has the right to have the mark on there to keep other people from stealing his material...what world do you live in?

  • how cool would it be to own all that stuff, have people over, and have it all playing groovy 8-tracks at once?
