There are alien starships out there 40 lightyears away that are playing Credence Clearwater on their intercoms as they vector in for Earth. Save your old casettes and you can trade them for a ride to Glory.
I Thank my lucky stars that my old man was a dj way back when records were cool and cds were just coming in cause every band i listen to almost is because of him. so i owe a big thanks pop for that :)
"Theres a bad moon rising" is where my last three hours started now I've came across loads of songs by this band I, until just the now knew nowt of their music....well what can I say :)
My dad had a floor model record player. One of those GIGANTIC ones. He used to lay down in front of it, and play his favorite record. Revival was one.
I can remember this song when me and my dad was driving to our cottage, it was a warm summerday and it was after that day I really started to like CCR. My dad has always been a CCR fan, since he was a young boy like me back in those days.
This is so fucking powerful and amazing song, I'll never forget this song, its absolutely fantastic.
Fogerty's powerful lament about musical and commercial sucess mixed with failures in his personal life, his marriage was breaking up and he got drafted during this time. Thanks for posting. 1 moron doesn't appreciate good music.
WOW, this is the first time ever hearing the song after it was recommended to me by someone, and its AMAZING! Love CCR, cant believe I'm now just hearing this song!
Good memories in my earliest teen years in El Salvador.Credence was a great sensational group everybody listen this great band...I am Ccr fan for ever..Luis Delgado
They just don't WRITE SONGS like this anymore. Songs with deeper meaning and more introspection than the trash they're writing about today. John Fogerty was one of the best and he definitely "wrote a song" for all of us who, today, 40+ years later, are still "in chains."
John sounds quite sad in this. You can just feel that his life force just wasnt what it usually was. Something must have been wrong for him to write this one.
seen a story on the band suing john , because they wanted more money , tied the songs up for years , and yes john was dissapointed , so dissapointed he put away his guitar for years , . . . he never spoke to them again , even when they were drafted in the rock and roll hall of fame , cant blame him , he was the manager , , writer , o f 99 % of the tunes , I ve always favored john ,
I'll joine in: 1) Born on the Bayou 2) Keep On Chooglin 3) Bad Moon Risin 4) Proud Mary 5) Have You Ever Seen the Rain 6) Down on the Corner 7) Up Around the Bend 8) Green River 9) Lookin Out My Back Door and 10) Fortunate Son!
My top 10 CCR-songs 1. It's just a thought 2. It came out of the sky 3. Lookin' out my back door 4. Down on the corner 5. Fortunate son 6. Wrote a song for everyone 7. Penthouse Pauper 8. Sweet Hitch-hiker 9. Graveyard train 10. Have you ever seen the rain I just never get tired of listening to all these great songs. CCR: The best american band ever.
@GratefulFloydRevival Nice here's mine, but Top 15: 15) Cotton Fields 14) Tombstone Shadow 13) The Midnight Special 12) Someday Never Comes 11) Wrote a Song for Everyone 10) Down on the Corner 9) Sweet Hitch-Hiker 8) Green River 7) Lodi 6) Born on the Bayou 5) Long As I Can See the Light 4) Proud Mary 3) Travelin' Band 2) Fortunate Son 1) Have You Ever Seen the Rain
It's was on the set list of his concert in Stockholm (S) on July 2-2010. I'm going to see him live next saturday at the Bospop festival (NL). I'd like to hear this song, it's great.
@bothermetomorrow cool, he puts on a great show can't wait to see him again.Wish he did this when I saw him before. I couldn't find any live versions so he must of forgot about it then redid it.He writes so many great songs
Man, I've been on here since 7:30 this morning and I just can't get enough. Thank you so much for posting these old Credence tunes. I've loved these songs all my life. I'm over sixty now and still remember the thousands and thousands of miles of road that just wouldn't have been the same with Credence on the Eight Track.
Thanks very much for all your work posting these.
Yessir, you're sure right about the chills. A pal and I used to listen to a song on the eight track and we'd say "hey, where's the hell's Lodi"? Then we'd look it up and head for Lodi. Man, I saw more of the good ol USA because of the names of towns in Creedence songs than from a atlas or school. Must have travelled half or more of the country doing that.
one of my favorite CCR tunes...the music is great...his tunings are always so low...and I think I hear piano faintly accenting the basic chords...maybe I'm just hearing things.
wow i've never heard this song and it's very good. the lyrics are really powerful. thank you soooo very much for posting these songs up. CCR is my favorite band.
