Wow... This video definitely made my day. One of my favorite tunes on that album for sure! I think the "Star Power Ready" after the bridge just about killed me. AMAZING :) I would love to see more of these!
"totally hip!!!!!" this vid was shown @ music camp during sectionals and its just totally ko-wel! that was sooooo awesome! i like totally suck @ guitar hero, but i rock @ trombone. i m learning how 2 doodle tongue and m getting better. its WAY easier than double toungueing and some ppl say that doodle toungueing is cheating, but its easier and it practically sounds the same, so who really cares? this vid rocked! :)
Doodle tonguing while not only a legit tonguing technique is actually 1 million times harder to learn than double or triple tonguing. Technically speaking, your actully taking the hard way out if you learn to doodle tongue. Many jazz artists I have met actually insist that doing double and triple tonguing in jazz is actually the easy way. It takes some people YEARS to learn, and is noted for its intense diffuculty. I just wanted to tell you before try to learn thinking it s the easy way out.
@TromboneQueen2012 it's doodle tonguing. this is a year old post, so you may have come across it already, but Bob McChesney has the best book on doodle tonguing. I highly recommend it.
ya know... I can honestly say that it would probably be easier to play that on a trombone than nail it 100% on Guitar Hero (given that you can doodle tongue). Bravo to whoever wrote it out and played it.
Defitnely tough on both but it really is insane on trombone. Most professionals (In Jazz anyway...Some classical players do it, but rare) doodle tongue some, but not to the extent of McChesney. McChesney is just a freaking master of it, that solo is insanely difficult for anyone. Give a pro an hour or so with this solo and they could play it, but probably not as smooth and clear as McChesney.
Amen to that. I'm a classical player, and it's hard to facilitate doodle tonguing except for at jam sessions and an improv solo here and there. I'd still rather attempt it on my bone- I'm absolutely terrible at guitar hero, lol.
im not trying to b mean but have you ever played trombone I've never ever seen anyone even close to skill like that on a trombone thats crazy flat out that is tops tops of all trombone skill.
Ah, I've been waiting for a comment like this for a month. Yes, I have played trombone. I play trombone. When I die, I will be playing the trombone. You should check out Carl Fontanta, Conrad Herwig, JJ Johnson, Jack Teagarden (the original Meet Me Where They Play the Blues), or Frank Rosolino. I'm not going to say that any of them are better because it's opinion, but just throwing them out there.

or you could just use smart music and see what percentage you get on that...then you'd have euphonium hero, tuba hero, etc.!

It most definately is doodle tonguing. That's McChesneys thing. He even has a book out where he teaches doodle tonguing alone.
