I am claustrophobic and I well, be working in a hospital soon. I well be a nurse. I AM SCARED TO DEATH OF ELEVATORS! It always been my dream job to work in a hospital. I am afraid I'll get stuck in their and starve or end up in a fire not be able to get out. Every time I get in one I feel like I am sky diving risking my life. This videos calmed me.
@hetnerd Wow! I'm amazed to find another person like myself! I, too am a claustrophobic. As for me, I feel like I can't breathe and I get anxiety attacks. I can't help it. So, I avoid going alone in elevators but if I ever have to go, I always go with someone and close my eyes but I do get lightheaded afterwards though. Well, nice to meet someone out there like me! :) ...I'm curious..What caused you this fear?

My mom would wake up I be outside by the pond at 6am in the mourning. So my mom had to start locking me in my room. I use to scream when she closed the door. Or so I was told.
@hetnerd (part 4) My whole blood stream was rising on me and I could feel it. I was in there for like 5 minutes and when my mother came in, I told her all about what I went through and now whenever I go on a trip and we're stopping at some place for a moment. I always leave the door slightly open. I hate those cars with automatic features. =/
@hetnerd (part 3) Once (sometime ago) my mother automatically locked me her car while she went to get some food. I tried to open the door and I couldn't at all! The windows were closed shut. You wouldn't imagine what I went through that night. Oh gosh, I felt like I couldn't breathe or something . (cont. part 4)
(part 2) (After that, I never wanted to go there alone again. So, whenever I have to get inside the elevator, I always remember my childhood past and I can't help feeling nervous. I always have to go with someone . It was a good thing you were with friends and they kept you calm. (cont part 3)
@hetnerd ...Wow, interesting how this triggered it. I know how you feel..I would be in your shoes too.. As for me, this happened to me when I was about 7 years old ..I was playing tag with my baby sitter and I ran down the hallway and quickly went inside the elevator and the next thing I know, I got stuck in there for like 5 minutes. I was crying in there the whole time till she got me out. (part 2)
hopefully they were smart enough to turn the power off completely because if the elevator begins to work again and they are still climbing out....... well
I got stuck in an elevator alone for 1 and 1/2 hours. My i-pod died about half hour into it. luckily it was glass so someone called because my phone was dead "/

lol! I'm just thankfull it's glass or I could have been stuck in there for a while because it's 2 floors the shopping centre and I was in between them. If it hadn't of been glass I was fucked cos my phone was dead
