I think their mistake is trying to harmonise live when they have so much else to do. It's not that they're singing far off of key, but when two people are wavering on and off the note, it's just going to clash. Also, let's face it, they're not singers, they're musicians who happen to sing because they need to to be taken seriously. Vocals are overrated anyway, I'd much rather listen to them singing slightly off key than a rock band singing right on key.. Infact, I wish they screamed instead.

If their singers had stronger voices, especially live, they'd be unstoppable. That is their only weak point IMO. Musically they are fantastic, and their vocal ideas are great - they just cannot execute due to their larynx.

This is a great song. It's an epic subject. Truely unique and original. Brent Hinds guitar playing on this album is incredible. The whole idea of incorperating russian culture and the Tzar is very brilliant. This live version sounds really good but Brent sounds like his voice is blown out a little bit. This is a really hard song to sing. I use to to sing this in a minor band project. I never learned the riffs though I only learned the solo. lol.
