Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge

Big Oaks is a great place.

The deer population is way lower now than it was, They have over hunted Big Oaks, I used to see 50 or more deer per day driving around Big Oaks.

I used to drive up East Perimiter Road, and I could count up to 100 deer each evenining, Good luck doing that now.LOL

Big Oaks used to be Jefferson Proving Ground, when it was a military base, I think the wildlife had a more untouched ecosystem to live in.

I heard/read somewhere that the area where the shells landed are radioactive due to the Uranium rounds they shot.

@HellBound8492 there is depleted uranium areas on the refuge. I used to work there.
