i was there. the show was sold out. we couldn't get in. my friend and i were in the parking lot next to trees. i had never heard of them before. this was a couple of weeks before they got super big. before the show a little blonde dude opened the side door and said, "anybody that wants to come in, come in." i patted the dude on the back, said thanks and ran in. then the little blonde dude jumped on stage.

my memory of Trees is hazy and mostly revolves around post-renovation(late 90's?) but i can't imagine 20k fitting in there. Still, this show was a month after Smells like Teen Spirit was released. Honestly, the first time I heard Nevermind shortly after, I though it sucked. It quickly grew on me, and everyone else in the country. This is fantastic footage. Thank you for posting it.
