Not to get too far into this debate, but just want you to see the other side. We have bear and wolf problems in many areas of Alaska, which the fish and game has to control. You can take a certain number with tags/license. People eat bear meat (you don't wear the fur - it stinks). As far as the wolves go, they kill large numbers of deer, moose, elk, and even small children, so I don't mind when people have to take a few wolves. And we depend on wild game heavily to feed our families here.

The American War of Independence WAS fought centuries ago; not for peace but rather for freedom. This shows a bacic misunderstanding of history. Historically very few of the wars America has participated in were so altruistic as for "peace". Those that were were much more recent.

The common person (meaning Lower and Middle Class) benefit quite well from this system as it provides necessary services including the Fire Dept, Paramedics, Police, Educational Inst. I understand that the free market deserves a chance to offer better deals but in many cases, these services get deregulated (meaning that companies cut corners).

Not to get too far into this debate, but just want you to see the other side. We have bear and wolf problems in many areas of Alaska, which the fish and game has to control. You can take a certain number with tags/license. People eat bear meat (you don't wear the fur - it stinks). As far as the wolves go, they kill large numbers of deer, moose, elk, and even small children, so I don't mind when people have to take a few wolves. And we depend on wild game heavily to feed our families here.
