Which other local radio stations use this apart from BBC Radio Derby? It's a tradition before and after Derby County matches and everyone stops what they're doing when it comes on!
Didn't actually realise there was a BBC Althletics theme tune, though I do now recognise. Must easily be the worst of all the BBC sports tunes, most of which are brilliant.
NFL Films. Super Bowl VIII (January 1974) highlight film. This was played with Miami's Bob Griese going 4-for-4 passing in the first quarter. Then Jim Kiick leaping over the line twice to produce a touchdown that led to a 14-0 lead over Minnesota at the end of the first quarter, and Larry Little patting Jim Kiick's butt (if I remember correctly) in the fade to black. Did you folks in England have this song in use before that Super Bowl?
Well, I have could have. Hadn't really thought about it, sorry! Maurice & Michael were both idols growing up so immediately sprung to mind. Eric the Eel being from Equatorial Guinea.. hmm

Its a shame that athletics has been tainted by drug cheats these days. I don't watch it any more.

Cheers, I'll edit that then. I wasn't 100% sure whether it was actually used for the Olympics.
BravoT 3 years ago
This was certainly used for world and european athletics by the BBC, but I can't remember it being used for the Olympics.
