  • iPhone 3GS uses lipo batteries... now i dont dare to hold my phone anymore...

  • You absolutely nuts!!

  • hay we got new smoke grenades :D lol

  • They are like makeshift smoke grenades

  • Safe or not, I'm not screwing with LiPos. I'm sticking to Nimh

  • Uranium is Perfectly Safe.... :)

  • your a funny guy ! i laughed a lot

  • Yea when ur lipo is not doin anything just poke it with a stick

  • Put a gallon of gas in the bucket dork, and throw a lit match in---make sure your face is nice and close-and watch what happens. Every high powered energy source is highly unstable, and they require a lot of care and caution.

  • i got some Hardcase LiPo batteries. are trey safe?

  • @SKYLINEman1996 same my man same

  • i love all the little noises he makes!

  • LMAO

  • why do far east people like to blow up stuf

  • I have been using lipos for 3 years. I take every precaution. Lipo safe bag, and charge on a concrete floor. 2 days ago I had a lipo fire in my basement that nearly burnt down my house. Moral of the story, no amount of precaution can protect you from a defective lipo or charger. Learn from me folks. Lipos are great but be very careful, it can and DOES happen!

  • @B4its2L8guy tell me bout it. My friend blasted one before yesterday. good thing he does it in his textile factory in a big room on concrete floor. he told me the fire ball was really big. That is why when i see a battery is swelling up I just throw it away / Discard it. cuz charging old batteries to save money for buying new, will actually not save you money, that fire that burns your house, you gonna regret not spending 100$ more buying a new battery later right.

  • @alishanmao Yes, throw out damaged and pulled lipos. BUT the lipo I was changing only had 5 cycles on it, was not puffed at all (only break in run times) AND I was charging @ 1C. I was charging on a concrete floor but the flames shot out of the lipo bag like a flame thrower, very violent. But I am paranoid about fire and have a fire extinguisher in every room in my house.. Not sure what damaged more, the fire, or the extinguisher!

  • @B4its2L8guy wow, well i am getting a garage rented outside and I am moving all my Nitro, gasoline, batteries and charging out there. with my little baby boy at home, I better do it before he starts crawling and walking :D

  • Hey Ali. Can you please do some basic LiPo videos like you've done for Nitro Engines. For example, how to charge, discharge, balance etc. I'm a noob when it comes to LiPo. Thanks

  • @LangleyRealtor will try to do

  • I hope u save wires and plugs :)

  • lol on next party i need some lipos and nails for fog on dancing floor

  • What an interesting experiment that others havnt ever tried b4 yet. Like yr lovely dog too :)

  • @RcWorld7

Yeah I know! But hydrogen is very dangerous, but fun if you practice safety.

  • That's a good way to punish lipos when they fail to teach them a lesson. LOL Totally kidding people!

  • Try some 6 or 8 cells ali... that should be FUN!

    Fully charged

  • @Galatsian coming soon. waiting for my two big ass brick like 6 Cell to swell up hehehe

  • @alishanmao yeah Ali ..that would make a great smoke screen to say the least... i'll hope for a BIG POW.. my 3cell exploded IN a T-28 midflight did a nice purpple smoke ..and the remains where like a pack of bus tickets burned

  • Perfect BMW.....

  • lol "I think we need some poking"

  • Finally Ali! THE VIDEO I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!

    Thanks buddy, and be safe!

  • lol shouldn't water put out any lipo fire lol

  • @TOPBLAZER85 yes lol so as per this video, you can safely store lipos in a water bucket full of water.

  • that looked like too much fun

  • Ali, THis weekend, I had a battery that had one bad cell. I thought I would charge it anyway. It swelled so I put it out in the yard. All of a sudden, it burst into flames! I mean BIG flames, would have caught the house on fire for sure.

Moral of the story, don't chage damaged batteries!!

They should come out with a hard plastic cone that the battery fits in so that when it hits the ground it doesn't damage it.... I'll be charging my batteries outside from now on!

    KC

  • @chattrader LOL yes

  • lol... i think i need some poking

  • 3:15 the laughing is hilarious!!!!!!

  • I am so making a smoke nade....

  • hehehe nice

  • 1:58 priceless, hehe

  • cancer

  • the lipos is smoke bomb!

  • you got the puppy out of the way right?

  • @sqeker09 yup he is clever puppy

  • i think we need some poking!

  • Is that your yard?

  • @boldger13 its my friends new factory where he is setting up towel making and coloring factory. the one who owns that red BMW. its a great place for us to experiment stuff, build stuff, have bar b q, watch movies outdoors and put on swings n trees. near by area has great bashing spots for Redcats too.

  • I love how Ali is only focused on the fact that it could make a cool smoke system. I know you were probably thinking to yourself.... hmm how could I do this on purpose in a plane.

  • @TheDonaldHarris yes thats the only question left hehehe

  • You should save the battery connectors!

  • @videoposter555 i have tons of them at home

  • try charging them at the wrong voltage or charge them too much or short circut the wires i wanna see what happens

  • @pinzgauernorcal problem is pro chargers have clever programming to prevent wrong voltage charging, so can not do that. but short circuit for sure sets them on fire

  • @alishanmao true

  • And again..... Nail beats everything :)

  • @steliosaa2 yeah baby, nail is something you can't beat, you can simply nail anything. second thing that catches up is the screw LOL

  • Oh yeah looks perfectly safe. That's why all kids toys and baby furniture come with lipo batteries. NOT!!! Ali I think your proving here that they are INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS! If one blows in your apartment it will be totaled.

  • @degimedia yes we all know that clearly. but again point is, if you know how to handle lipos, there is no way they are dangerous.

  • ya way to be irresponsible show more people how to pollute, i know you are in china, but cmon grow up a lil ali

  • @johnyfido LOL

  • You destroy our planet with pollution

  • @jackyCopter just doing my part mate

  • Amazing how much entertainment you can get out of a few spent batteries!

  • @321RCHeli LOL well said

  • That 250 size MD500 @ 0:16 kinda interesting.

  • @dazh Reviews are coming soon. the avatar style heli :D

  • lipo smoke, dont breath this

  • @mestarinico1999 ooo you should try it. better than weed mate

  • This is the safe way of disposing of your old lipo. Cut the end off and leave for a week or 2 to discharge in salty water, then you can throw away.

  • @ballsey man who got a week or two :D hehehehe,

  • DEATH TO LIPO!

  • @alishanmao so after all the lipo powered baby swing is safe.

  • @TheDextersd yes perfectly

  • Nice Ali! But can you demonstrate it when you charge an old lipo at Nicd program with far too high amps???? Plz...

  • @elmardus man my chargers are very expensive and I do not wanna burn them ehhehe

  • whats that double prop heli i wanna see more of it

  • @420choky reviews coming soon :D its gonna be a super stable avatar movie heli soon

  • @alishanmao cmon really ive searched and found nothing hahahah ... looks like something i must have hhahahah

  • Decomposition of water to hydrogen and oxygen will take more bubbles than this experiment to ignite. Also Hydrogen gas itself without an oxidizer is somewhat of a extinguisher on other fires displacing their oxygen. I do agree not to breath the gassing and dispose properly the remains. Watching this video I will no longer feel the need to place lipos with metal or rock under them while charging at 1 C rating.

    Thanks Ali

  • OMG Ali are you out of your mind !!!

  • It is producing hydrogen gas

  • so a good point bro

  • THAT WAS VERY INTERESTING, HOPE TO SEE MORE!!!

  • Is it bad to use swollen lipos?

  • @aznkid221 too bad. do not use them. they have more chances of explosion and fire

  • I'd be interested to see what happened with a fully charged lipo and more salt in the bucket to increase conductivity. At least sea water strength would be good.

That "magic smoke" is evil, isn't it? Cough, cough. Inflammable too ;)

  • @KozmykJ thats what we are going to do next :D with a fully charged 6 Cell

  • hahaha u guys are like 12 year old pyros all over again. Great video

  • lol good stuff.

  • @yourtubed714 LOL do not worry. I will remove these comments.

  • @yourtubed714 LOL Free my A** COme to China man, you can do all you want

  • That's why I like swollen old lipos, haha

  • @RobinnTech yup they bring us joy

  • That happens because when you add salt to water it allows it to conduct electrisity don't let your son have a go at that. lol.

  • @nitroairplane He will experiment with lots of stuff. gotta keep an eye on him.

  • @alishanmao so true

  • lithium poisoning ftw

  • lmao

  • acid smoke, dont breath this...

  • @JamesMullins100 Does it blend tho? that is the question!

  • @shav4life lol

  • @JamesMullins100 we did :D it was fun and fresh air lol

  • @JamesMullins100 Which reminds me! "Does it blend?!" (lipos in a blender would be quite something)

  • @PHeMoX ''That is the question'' lol

  • hey man i been watching your videos for a short time now and man you doing great keep up the good work

  • @tearz19 glad you are entertained. Thanks

  • x_x

  • Very nice. I like your way of desposing of them. I have had 2 go up in flames in my time in rc and both were controlled and contained. Take proper care in your lipos and they will last for hundreds of cycles. I have proven that over and over. If you really want to see a battery explode, charge a nihm or nicad at 20 amps without stopping. And they say those are the safe ones to use. Only idiots with guns make them dangerous, not the gun itself.

  • @Divey1130 totally agree

  • Lipos are dangerous whenever too much current is drawn from them or they're overcharged. Providing you take care to avoid overcharging and physical damage they're usually safe. However, I have seen Lipos with faulty construction which meant the balance leads were in danger of shorting together. That could have produced a fire if the batteries were simply moved and the wires shorted together. It's best to treat all lipos as if they were firelighters :-)

  • @xjet true. so at home we always use pro chargers, buy good quality batteries from good companies only and never leave them unattended my friend

  • Haha, you silly kids!

  • only dangerous about lipos is that they can burn while they are charged

  • @MrMortjon i do not agree. using good chargers that have safety features there is no way you will burn a lipo during charging only if your connectors are bad, or balance ports are bad due to bad quality lipo

  • do a 6s lipo!

  • @TheBrushlessracer waiting for a 6S which is starting to swell up :D few more flights and then its a big nail going through ehhehe

  • Nice! The bubbles coming up in the salt water were pure hydrogen and oxygen. Another good test is just to put a clip across the positive and negative... I tried that with a tiny 500mah 2S, and was surprised how much stuff was released.

  • @marhar2 more will come as lipos keep swelling

  • salt just makes the watter conductive so it completes the circuit and makes a short will also work with gatorade

  • @PcandTech more experiments will come later

  • is that your doggie and bmw?

  • @electricrc68 My brotherly friend's

  • Kids these days... ;D

  • @qwasd0r LOL big kids

  • i screwed through a lip. bad place toput on a hatch

  • @minameisjake next time will do more naughty experiments

  • now thats why its global warming !!!

  • @TheMickyGMan1 is that us?

  • @alishanmao no becouse of lipos !!!

  • Nice video man! Must try with big ones :D

  • @Videomastershow coming soon.

  • @Videomastershow Thats what she said :P

  • hahaha lol

  • Those bubbles are not caused from the water boiling, what is happening is a reaction called Hydrogen Electrolysis. Basically what is happening is Oxidation of ions or neutral molecules occurs at the anode, and the reduction of ions or neutral molecules occurs at the cathode.

QED, If you'd have dropped a lit matchstick in that bucked you'd probably have no facial hair left.

  • @395Javelin LOL really. will try later

  • @alishanmao its true they use this for removing rust

  • @alishanmao

    :O

  • Ali, you always find some way of keeping us entertained :D

  • @ZFluxGuides Glad to hear that :D
