I must be one of the few people who just can't take to Paul Rodgers. I think his voice is too much, about 75% sounds like him and the rest is showing off. all I hear is a white guy wanting to be a blues man, but his ego is far too out of control for there to be any heart in it. people knock Elvis for stealing black music, but Elvis had real soul, I'm not sure Rodgers has.
@midnightmoses100 have I hurt yuor feelings by saying that?! lol YOu may not agree with me and that's fine, I'm not trying to change your mind on anything. I simply don't like rodgers. Look at him when he gets up on stage now,m he's all leather pants and all that stuff and you can bet he doesn't get the joke, you can bet he thinks he looks cool as shit with that stuff on. The guy just tries to hard.
@BlowDeBloodyDoorsOff Problem is I think you have a thing with race, who cares what colour he is, it is about talent. I am not his biggest fan when he performs but on record I can't think of a better singer in blues rock, who do you like? I see you like Jimi, but of course you know he stole his act from Pete Townsend, and he can't sing for shite. so you see nobody is perfect. I am not offended by discussion when we deal in facts.
Simply love the song. And I've actually been moving around the world for all of my life. Having lived in 6 different countries over 4 continents, i can safely say: I'M A MOVER!
@kennycube If you did a live recording for the BBC at that time, you were allowed to overdub only the vocals because of the loudness of the other instruments in the studio. It was a strict policy. So it's live except Paul Rogers may have had the privilege or option of doing the vocals separately.
@mickclarkemusic Mick is correct. You can see and hear many other recordings made this way on YouTube. They may not be strictly live by some definitions, but it is close enough...for Rock and Roll. Anyway, this was the Golden Age, and we are lucky to have them now, when we are inundated with garbage, mostly from the USA.
@IanusRav I used to have a version of the song 'Woman' in my favorites. It was also a live version that was recorded in the BBC studio. It was taken off due to some copyright infringment and I was wondering if the live versions recorded at BBC ever came out in album or cd format.
