Yo soy italiana y llevo 4 años con un muchacho peruano y ningún peruano que vive en Italia escucha eso, en sus fiestas solo ponen Grupo Néctar, Grupo 5, Aguamarina y cosas así, raras veces huayno (que nadie baila) y siempre me pregunto por cual razón nunca ponen música negra y aún peor, no quieren difundirla acá...

Your postings are much appreciated. I have been entranced by this music since discovering it through a Peruvian friend in college 8 years ago. Breathtaking, sensual, emotive... there simply aren't enough adjectives to describe the scope of the music.
This has to be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. It really makes me want to learn Spanish so I can really start to get into the vast world of latin music.

I have an album called Afro Peruvian All-Stars on which this song can be heard, and I've been mesmerized since the very first time. The whole album is amazing, actually. Sometimes hard to locate (if you don't have it already), but well worth it if you can.
