I don't think this group had any delusions about immediately changing Chineese society. I think all they're doing is trying to keep awareness of China's human rights record top of mind - i.e. they're raising awareness.

Although I think what we're doing in Afghanistan & Iraq is just as bad, people here (@ least for the time being) can still protest against these policies. People in China have no such ability, & the evolution of their surveillance state is making future revolutions unlikely.
