  • I was once on my way to bristol on a HST and we were held up by a signal, saw some large wagons lined up and it had written on them 'NOT TO BE LOSE HUMP SHUNTED' i didn't even know what the hell this ment. now i have seen vids of it i am glad cuz those wagons were huge how the hell they would have stopped them. god only knows. They would have built up quit a bit of speed going down the other side of 'The Hump' . they were JGA wagons if i remember rightly

  • hi, the movies is excellent, thanks ★★★★★

  • Kadees will let you push with out coupling up. my biggest wonder is slowing the wagons, to control the decent down the yard.

  • I don't think speed would be an issue as the cars are fairly light and uniform in weight (usually). You could make a brake that touches the wheels on the outside below the trucks. You'd have to do it on both sides of the rail car. Spring load it so it's only barely touching the wheel.

  • This is one area of railways that I have been intrested in modelling.

  • It's an interesting project .

I'm not sure how you would uncouple because even with Kadees , I believe you would need to stop the loco. You could perhaps use Kadees only on the wagons you want to split off.
