Tatakau Monotachi is nearly impossible to play without many mistakes... I'm working out a lot of kinks. I suggest that you work on the trill after 2:30 and play the rapid 16th notes at 0:37, etc. sustenato. Fantastic performance, up to the part where you stop, of course.
Hi, great playing! I'll try to practise this song after i finished my own version of suteki da ne... Though i think it will hard, especially on this speed. keep up the good work! =D
lol oh yea i forgot that when you win a battle, that little part comes out hahaha. you're amazing. hopefully about 5 years from now lol, i could play this. wat happened to the last page??? o_O
It wasn't me... it's the score that didn't want to be learnt! Jokes apart, you can't imagine the difficulties I encountered practising, and at the last page I gave up. I'll probably complete it when less busy.
wow, cool, i have nearly the same piano, the CLP-220 ( it has a small control bar on the left instead of a big one in the middle: more aesthetic, less practical ). I never could bring myself to really learn the second half of this piece though.. well, that'll happen. sometime. until then, i'll enjoy your recordings =)
Are you sure yours is the CLP-220? I watched some of your videos and (if my sight doesn't fool me) I noticed you own a Grand Piano... oh yes, the same as mine if it just weren't for the small control bar on the left... ;p
Joking apart, thank you so much, but objectively you play so well and I like very much your video of 'Descendant of Shinobi'. In ten minutes of practice you can upload a highly better 'Those who fight' performance than mine! Keep me up when it's ready!
Pretty good but you murdered that first set of left-hand triplets with right hand quarter notes going into the melody. It sounded like you slowed the left hand way down and turned the right hand quarter notes into a triplet. Other than that pretty good, minor inaccuracies but good job on a tough piece.
Well, I always have problems in coordinating triplets with halves of quarter notes, I find splitting time in thirds very difficult... why aren't there just doublewhole notes? Wouldn't it be easier?
Where did you find the sheet music for this??? I REALLY WANNA PLAY ITTTT, but I can't find it anywhere... ;___;
As to the actual performance, great job!! You kept the tempo, and despite the mistakes, you kept going and didn't lose the intensity of the song. Magnificent! =]
its not the most accurate performance of it that i'v heard, but you play with good confidence. and you realise ur mistakes. you can go far...
And you keep the rough tempo lol i hate wen people play too fast that you cant appreciate it. and then they usually make mistakes. well done for keeping tempo!
I appreciated your comment very much but actually there are many parts in which I slow down (eg at 15s, 40s) or speed up (eg at 27s). Despite that this one is probably the best I managed to play, I recorded it more or less at midnight (I felt I was 'inspired')... That's why I had to set the volome very low, hence sound's reverb effects are pretty unhearable.
I started studying it on a 5octave piano with huge struggles and I uploaded what I managed to do. I skipped several notes both to make it easier and for lack of octaves. Recently I bought this Clavinova and restarted studying the piece from the beginning playing more or less all the notes. The passage from a notweighed keyboard to a GH3 piano hasn't been easy but I'm getting better.
Anyway I didn't study it continually, just when I had time and felt like doing it. Considering all I'm satisfied..
i've been desiphering the sheet music in to A's B's ect. and getting it all wrong then watching people play it on yt and correcting it. it would be nice to see someone teaching people how to play this. your better than me right now, but i've only been practicing for 1hr a day for the last week.
the only thing i find difficult about "translating" it is telling wheather the note is a flat or not but i am only 25s in, who know what other complications will arise as i precede.
i am confident that i will succeed using a combination of my ear for music, guidence from yt vids and my crappy translations.
to read sheet music i would have to train my mind and i just don't think i have the space, i am currently learning university level chemistry, attempting japanese and kung fu, all from books and cd's, plus i am weight traning and under pressue from many other complicated problems that life has to offer.
if i take anymore on board i can see myself dribbling in a mental hospital somewhere, humming Aerith's theme and talking to teletubbies.
Say hello to Tinky Winky on my behalf (and write it in Hiragana)! :{D Kung Fu... it'd be my dream if only I had just a bit more time!
I understand your situation, studies really keep busy the most of day and you don't have time to do almost anything else.
I really can't play at first sight, I read very slowly and manage to perform something after ages of practise and memorization, so ABs would be a solution for me as well, but I don't wanna talk with teletubbies so I don't translate anything..
Wow! Haven't you..ehm.. overrated me..'just' a bit? What's the honor to be in your favorites due to? Thank you so much!
Yes, you're right, actually yours is the first suggestion... Since November 2007 I've been having lessons twice a month, but I'm still working on the technique (I lack so much). Tatakau Monotachi is still lightyears far!
perhaps you're right? heh, i like the way you attacked on your first vid so i thought id add it.. and you dont gotta be pro to teach us, no one else has even wanted to.
Wait wait wait... I probably misunderstood something: I thought you said I had to HAVE lessons to perform it better (that's way I said I've been having lessons twice a month since last November and TT is still lightyears far). It would've made sense, since I clearly lack basis... How could I teach something I neither know!? You overrated me... but thanks a lot for your(over)estimation...
Actually I'm gonna upload something like "Aerith's theme" from FFVII, "Melodies of Life" from FFIX, "Kids run through the city corner" or "Tina's Theme" from FFVI;
btw. can i have sheet music..? cant seem to find any Dx

Thank you! Did I stop earlier cause I didn't know the last part of the score or cause I managed to win the battle in less than 3 minutes?
Who knows...

by the way, why name it tatakau monotachi instead of fighting?
Sorcerer88 3 years ago
Just because it's the original japanese title:
闘う者達 (Tatakau monotachi) that means 'Those who fight'...
さようなら!

i can play this up to about 23 seconds in.
i can't read music and have never had a lesson.

i can play Aerith's theme all the way through,
i am looking forward to hearing you play that.
xqwvwpx 4 years ago
Ok, Aerith's theme will be the next! When it's ready I'll send you a message.
Isn't that hard to "translate" sheets into ABs? Very impressive, but wouldn't it be simpler to learn how to read music sheets directly ;?
By the way, when are you going to upload your performances? Keep me informed!
