  • that man was a BLOODY LEGEND

  • I used to watch this show when I was around 5 years old, and even back then I found it fascinating! Ditto now as well. Much of Australia is still like this these days once you get a good distance inland, and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!

  • IF YOU DONT HAVE A PERMIT A CARTON OF BEER WILL DO

  • Bet he wouldn't eat a Bells Steak pie, that would give him the billy jobbies !!!

  • look at that fine bush tucker breakfast! he caught those eggs n bacon by setting a trap with just a few twigs and a bit of string.............i loved this show when i was a kid! thanx for uploading.

  • Les had a wife

  • They split up when she found this out.

  • Always been a huge fan of the Major. Loved the show back in the day.

But saw him on something recently and the poor blokes nose looked like it was about to fall off. I don't know if he ever used sunscreen on it but he's paying the price now.

  • @drumdust Prob one of those alcoholic noses if you know what I'm talking about. Too much excess & you see some ppl with them.

  • Ah. You could be right.

And being a Vietnam vet too.

Either way I hope he keeps some sticky tape in his pocket just in case.

  • Great show, i'd love to visit Arnhem Land.

I've seen a few Aussie Aboriginal documentaries and noticed they use axes sometimes, can anyone tell me what they would have used pre-white man days? I haven't come across too much flint in Aus so i kinda ruled that out.

  • @BullDustt Chipped stone like cave men, kinda like flint but that's what they'd used to cut skins with. Search for vids on aborigines in Aus.

  • .67c a liter... nice

  • in the city that would prob be 50c/ltr

  • Love it.. great to see Les again.

Been many years since I saw it on tv. Always watched it :)

  • 67 cents per litre! Bloody hell it must have been in the 80's!

Bring back Les Hiddins and bring back cheap fuel!

  • @MilesB1975 How much do you pay now? We're on £1.22/Litre at the minute.

  • @ednuttah Petrol here in Sydney is about $1.20 for the cheapo stuff and high-octane is about $1.40 per litre. (About 79 pence)

So still cheaper here than England , I hope you don't own a V8 Landcruiser!?

  • @MilesB1975 Thats pretty good, considering it was around $1.60-1.70 18 motnhs back

  • @MilesB1975

i took a bloody screen print at that!!!

  • @MilesB1975

Judging by your nick, you would have been old enough to hear your old man talk of 69 cents a litre being expensive. I remember hearing mine say that like it was yesterday.

Good to see Les' face again - brings back TV memories where there was less overseas *cough* (American) influence.

    Cheers

  • That fishing technique shown in 09.00 is used by the many indian tribes of the Amazon Rainforest.

    Fascinating series. "Tremendous stuff"!
