i was going to! i had (or have really since ive started writing since then and have made december my wri mo ) but i got extreamly sick and then had to visit family on thxgiving! i got 1k words during november. wish me luck for nadewrimo
I'm going to try NaNoWriMo this year. It's my first year learning about it, but I've always wanted to write a novel. I just never had the time until now (I have a short break in work load since mid-terms are over). Thus far, I have written 5308 words and I would like to get to 7500 by the time I go to bed, but we'll see I suppose.
I am so doing NaNoWriMo this year! I'm starting out fresh cause this is my first year and I got lots of titles that would lead to interesting story lines :)
I did NanoRYEmo (lol) this year and sorta cheated, haha. I panicked at the end, got desperate and pasted all my notes for the story (which WERE written in Nov., but still) into the manuscript. I'm a dirty stinkin' cheater. :*)
Excellent - Finishing Nanowrimo with 50K plus is a great achievement. The only year I made it to the target was back about six or seven years ago. This year I never even got started. Congrats to you though!
Thanks Ken, yea I tried last year got to 30k and stopped. This year I had a much stronger sense of the story before I started writing though, so that helped alot.
while I hit the 50k word mark, this novel still has a lot left to be written. I do have one finished novel under my belt I'm trying to get published called 'Gone'.
and I'm planning on doing a few shorts based on scenes from this novel early next year.
Congratulations on winning! I had to stop about a week in because I had way too much to do for school but I'm going to try to do this on my month off in January and hopefully I'll be able to actually do this in November next year but I doubt it.
I won this year and I'll probably do it again next year because..."Dreadlocks gotz to represent!" Yes, it's me, Jupiter-Pluto-Sun. I think this will be fun, having some visual weekly support to continue on with the book. Excellent idea of weekly updates to keep it moving. Count me on board the train to publication.
Yep and my first nanowrimo was a massive fail for me. Partly because I became sick. =( Oh well, there is always next year and hopefully I won't get sick again.
I still consider the month a 'win' though because I did come up with several good ideas which I wrote down to use later. =)
at 36 seconds, are you having a nervous breakdown?

So...can you only do NaNoWriMo in november? Or can you do it any month?
*Is thinking that its probably just in november*
LittleFlowerLei 2 years ago
Well November is when the website officially does it. But you could challenge yourself to a 30 day novel in any month (well except February I guess)
SamProof 2 years ago 2
oh okay ^_^ Thanks for responding so quickly.
LittleFlowerLei 2 years ago
It's offically in November, but people do it all year. But offically in Nov.
I did it last year NaNoWriMo '08. I won!!!!
alm24601 2 years ago
@LittleFlowerLei NaNoWriMo in november is the "official" one, but they do have otehrs aswell, like WriYe (Write Year) and others in other months.
But you can challenge yourself to any month!

Good attitude Heidi.
Honestly win or loose in Nov, just keep working on the novel you have. It's just about pushing yourself to be creative.
SamProof 3 years ago
I attempted it this year, but school took over ._.
I am going to do it next year though.
hopolko 3 years ago
that's cool, I tried last year and didn't finish because of work. Life happens.
SamProof 3 years ago
Shit, I forgot to ask: can anyone read your novel? Where can I fin it?
hopolko 3 years ago
Well I'm still adding to this one so it might be a while before I'm letting ppl read it.
BUT I will be doing some videos with scenes from the novel early in 09. So watch for those.
