  • at 36 seconds, are you having a nervous breakdown?

  • @BallofFlames

more like a recap of muscle breakdown.

  • Comment removed

  • i was going to! i had (or have really since ive started writing since then and have made december my wri mo ) but i got extreamly sick and then had to visit family on thxgiving! i got 1k words during november. wish me luck for nadewrimo

  • nanowreemo sounds so much better.

  • im working on it this year and so far i've typed up 49 225 words.. as of nov 15th

  • This sounds like fun, but I'm currently writing a novel I actually care about. Maybe next year.

  • I'm going to try NaNoWriMo this year. It's my first year learning about it, but I've always wanted to write a novel. I just never had the time until now (I have a short break in work load since mid-terms are over). Thus far, I have written 5308 words and I would like to get to 7500 by the time I go to bed, but we'll see I suppose.

  • I'm already at 2,000 words and it's only 1 hour and 46 minutes into nano

  • Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year?

  • I like to say NaNoWREEMo also :-))

  • The best days of my life involve screaming obscenities at my imaginary friends in November.

  • I am so doing NaNoWriMo this year! I'm starting out fresh cause this is my first year and I got lots of titles that would lead to interesting story lines :)

  • I failed last year.

Watch out world! This is my year!

  • So...can you only do NaNoWriMo in november? Or can you do it any month?

*Is thinking that its probably just in november*

  • Well November is when the website officially does it. But you could challenge yourself to a 30 day novel in any month (well except February I guess)

  • oh okay ^_^ Thanks for responding so quickly.

  • It's offically in November, but people do it all year. But offically in Nov.

I did it last year NaNoWriMo '08. I won!!!!

  • @LittleFlowerLei NaNoWriMo in november is the "official" one, but they do have otehrs aswell, like WriYe (Write Year) and others in other months.

But you can challenge yourself to any month!

  • i think ill do it for 2009 im excited

  • Yes I did it this year. And last year. And the year before last year. Yes I won. Yes I'm doing it next year.

  • doing it next year!!

  • I SO wish I had known about this in time to do it this year... Congrats though!!!!!

  • Congrats on finishing!! Also: I was thrilled to see your face next to tim and eric, i was so surprised!!

  • I did NanoRYEmo (lol) this year and sorta cheated, haha. I panicked at the end, got desperate and pasted all my notes for the story (which WERE written in Nov., but still) into the manuscript. I'm a dirty stinkin' cheater. :*)

  • My class is writing novels for nanorimo in groups of 4.

  • Congrats sir... 50k is quite impressive!

  • Excellent - Finishing Nanowrimo with 50K plus is a great achievement. The only year I made it to the target was back about six or seven years ago. This year I never even got started. Congrats to you though!

  • Thanks Ken, yea I tried last year got to 30k and stopped. This year I had a much stronger sense of the story before I started writing though, so that helped alot.

  • Whenwill your book be finished? Have you written anything else? It would be cool to do a skit from your book!

  • while I hit the 50k word mark, this novel still has a lot left to be written. I do have one finished novel under my belt I'm trying to get published called 'Gone'.

and I'm planning on doing a few shorts based on scenes from this novel early next year.

  • So wait, you won? AWESOME!!

  • lol. anyone who meets the deadline 'wins'

  • Yea it's a self win. not like I get anything awesome.

  • Congrats!!

I will be doing Nanowrimo next year.

    I did win this year

I ended up reaching my goal of 200,000

    and ended up with

    220,000 ( plus 400 words but I round down)

  • Wow, that's an accomplishment!

  • Congratulations on winning! I had to stop about a week in because I had way too much to do for school but I'm going to try to do this on my month off in January and hopefully I'll be able to actually do this in November next year but I doubt it.

  • hehehehheeee...I got that one!

  • I won this year and I'll probably do it again next year because..."Dreadlocks gotz to represent!" Yes, it's me, Jupiter-Pluto-Sun. I think this will be fun, having some visual weekly support to continue on with the book. Excellent idea of weekly updates to keep it moving. Count me on board the train to publication.

  • Yay and I knew it was you! :)

  • I wrote one word and stopped - I forgot that I'm illiterate. ;_;

    -JP

  • aww JP I'd make a heart warming reply here, but it would just be lost on you.

(Not cause you're illiterate and can't read it, cause you're a heartless bastard... sigh) :D

  • I finished... and then I got 11 of my wrimos to finish. wahoo! I feel like a good ML this year.

  • Congratulations Mr. Proof! That's a holy hell lotta writing. Jumpins.

  • how long did it take ur hair to grow that long?

  • 16 years, though it used to be twice as long.

  • won first nano last year with 3 hours to spear :S

this years goal was to finish early, which i did on the 20th :D

i tell myself i'm going to rest next year but i think i'm lying to my brain because of tiredness and novel sucktitude

  • Nanowrimo never heard of it...sounds dangerous.

  • Honestly come Friday night I felt like I was on my death bed.

  • Yep and my first nanowrimo was a massive fail for me. Partly because I became sick. =( Oh well, there is always next year and hopefully I won't get sick again.

I still consider the month a 'win' though because I did come up with several good ideas which I wrote down to use later. =)

    Congratulations. =)

    - Heidi

  • Good attitude Heidi.

Honestly win or loose in Nov, just keep working on the novel you have. It's just about pushing yourself to be creative.

  • I attempted it this year, but school took over ._.

I am going to do it next year though.

  • that's cool, I tried last year and didn't finish because of work. Life happens.

  • Shit, I forgot to ask: can anyone read your novel? Where can I fin it?

  • Well I'm still adding to this one so it might be a while before I'm letting ppl read it.

BUT I will be doing some videos with scenes from the novel early in 09. So watch for those.
