@Renaud596 yes but you can easily produce diesel from vegetable oil from McDonalds and other fast food restaurants used fryer oil... so fossil fuels arnt to much of a concern

@aningloriusjew This is true, which is just one of the many reasons Diesel is much more practical than the typical gasoline internal combustion piston engine. The thing i was trying to point out to saltlife750 is that this is not the only reason that we are running out of fossil fuels. i wonder why there isn't a switch to biodiesel in everything? VW even has a fossil fuel diesel and a biodiesel and the biodiesel makes more power with the same amount of fuel

@Renaud596 bio-diesel is still more expensive to make, and older diesels would have to be replaced/rebuilt because bio-diesel will degrade most rubbers, but on the other hand it does burn cleaner so they should at least over bio-diesel at gas stations for those who want it

I think that if someone were to think the production through and try to re-invent it or if it became a national interest; someone would find a way to make it cheaper and faster. Gasoline had to go through a similar process when it was first used, but it was focused on as a primary interest and is cheaper to produce when compared to other refined fuels. The only thing stopping a revolution of the fuel industry is the greed of some big-wigs
