I'm there to teach them and to help them, not make myself feel better...unlike this douche of a teacher. Singling out students and pitting against one another is a common tactic - usually of a cowardly or lazy teacher.

@makeithurtful Yeah, great in a movie, not so wise in real life. That's something that's bad about movies, by the way, that they often glamorize standing up to authority. In real life it's more like what John Mellencamp said, "When I fight authority, authority always wins." Good way to get bad grades, lose you job, get yourself in trouble, etc.

I would have given Jake a standing ovation for telling off that asshole teacher, were I had been in the class. Do you catch that Jake uses "hip," referencing the earlier conversation he has with Sam about how "hip isn't hip anymore"? Nice touch.
