Regarding the Gunnar glasses. I've bought a pair, based on your review. I'm happy to say that it does reduce eye strain when staring at an LCD screen for long hours.

BUT... for potential buyers, please note that the glasses scratch VERY easily. Mine has already been scratched (day 2 post purchase), just from using an Oakley microfibre cloth.

I-Racing is the top dog in sim racing with stock cars right now. But I-Racing has never offered or ever will offer a single player AI mode in their game.

Sim racing games go hand in hand with PC's, NOT CONSOLES! NASCAR fans have waited a long time for a good, new NASCAR sim where they can race against all their favorite drivers for the championship. Since NR2003?

Eutechnyx has to release NASCAR 2011 for PC so this game can stretch its legs and allow us to get the most out of it...

To be honest, i never really liked Nascar, but after watching your reviews of oval racing and such, i really see there's quite a bit of skill required to do it, just like other types of racing.

Finally. Someone let it slip through there head. A lot of people are very stubborn when it comes to this. I think one of the main reasons is because no video game developer has yet to accurately model NASCAR physics. Even iRacing has its flaws.

The gunnar glasses are making me think of special sniper lenses for twilight conditions to increase contrast. I guess they finally brought that idea to glasses. Not sure I like the yellow tent the rifle lenses gave off for average indoor viewing though. Think I'll just turn down my monitors backlight. Also, if they can get 40+ cars on a track at once in Nascar 2011, then wow. I'm not a nascar fan, but for racing AI on the console, that would be impressive!

My Polaroid glasses are fine for work. I don't see a point for buying another glasses. But I don't use glasses when gaming because I wear akg headphones with freetrack tracking device and glasses just don't fit there.

What i know about NASCAR is that big part of it are the crashes. Lets be honest, those are most spectacular and common than in any other motorsport. And i have yet not seen a game or sim that would reflect that. Yes, there are bumps, dents and the cars sometimes go airborne but so far to my knowledge there is no product that would allow a car to roll 20 times bouncing off the net to be shredded down to its flaming rollcage. If Eutechnyx will be able to achieve that its gonna be a winner.

fair words about this Nascar title. I started thinking that you get everything on the positive side guys, but Darin made a good statement about dual life of racers - you can be hardsim racer and like arcade titles at the same time.

I will absoluley buy whatever DLC gt5 puts out but knowing them, unless sony forces them to, they won't charge any money at all or if they do, it won't be the rip off that most DLC is. The developers hate the way most DLC is a rip off so I'm sure they'll be pushing sony to let them give us something worthwhile. I just hope the Bugatti Veyron becomes premium, ASAP!!!!!

WOW..., what a dirty move by Polyphony for GT fans. They ran their mouths forever talking up the number of cars that will be in GT-5. They release the game with only a handful of the cars having cockpit views. Now they release word that GT-5 fans will be able to upgrade all the standard to premium.., but have to PAY MORE MONEY! WTF Polyphony.., ALL of the cars should have been this way from the day of release! Now you're charging extra. FAIL!

Not on oval tracks because no one makes a tire that can handle the sustained loading and heat buildup from the high speed cornering. The Nationwide Series has raced in the rain in recent seasons in Mexico City and Montreal. The Cup Series has practiced in the rain in the late 1990's at an exhibition event at Suzuka. Thus far, the Cup Series has not qualified or raced in the rain.

@supercar97 No, because Nascar is on ovals, the over-all average speed is much higher than other types of racing, thus creating waaay more heat on the tires. I don't think there is a wet tire that can handle it yet. Also, since they are rarely going under 140MPH, and on average 170+ (faster on big tracks like daytona) the accident potential is too high with a large field of drafting cars. Don't be sorry for wanting knowledge! Thats a GOOD thing!

@mkygod Do you have any idea how long it takes to accurately model a car, while keeping it optimized enough to run on console? Its massive amounts of time and effort for graphic artists to do, but I guess you expect them to work for free after the game's been launched? Remember, DLC is a choice, not something you HAVE to buy. The standard cars are just ported from the PS2 games, not remodeled like the premium ones. It takes 100's of hours of work to make 1 new Premium car accurately.
