Public schools are very dangerous places. I cannot trust the teachers, principals, supervisors and the chancellor. That is why I will not send my child to a public school in NYC.

With an eraser, any teacher can change the wrong answers and bubble up the right ones and change the grades to support the statistics.

Standards and tests are great, but the secrets behind the assessment and evaluation are alarming and you will never understand.

Long live Public Schools, I will take care of my child.

4.50? Damn. That is bullshit. I feel bad for these people, on top of school lunch, and all the other daily costs. I hope NY protests this maliciously. I live in Texas and the tollway authority here is ridiculous with their fines, but I could drive all the way to southern dallas and back (80 miles) for less than that. (speaking of the tollway costs)

Their mothers cant pay for the rides because they would have to spend thousand of dollars each year for them to go to school. We dont get better pay and these fuckers wanna Obliterate school passes?

sometimes is very dangerous to be walking long distances to school. I've walked to school...and I've taken the bus. And guess what...I ain't fat either.

But it can be very dangerous for little children. There needs to be transportation for children. NY has been cutting a lot of funding for education; even for the state colleges. My tuition increased $500 last year; for some people up to $1000. its bull crap.

I believe that everybody should pay fee when using public transportation. But they should have reduced fares for the school kids/seniors/disabled. To tell you the truth, I believe that they should lower the fee(s). What they charge is outrageous. The only overhead cost is to have the people run it, Oh yeah, and that schmuck who behind the glass giving you sh*t cause you can't get at him when you ask a simple question. He can be replaced with a self dispense machine.

@88nicetat 4.50$ a day two ways if unlimited its like 70$ a month which is a bit of a bargain but its much worse if you loose it not to mention some people like me live in NJ so I need to take the bus too which costs more if they revoke school metro cards hundreds of people will be to discouraged to take public transportation meaning more cars on the rode less work for the parents cause they have to drive their kids to school

Not a good idea and the collateral damage this would yield doesn't make it worthwhile in the end. They can find elsewhere for budget cuts, this isn't the place to do so.
