I had the pleasure of being a protege and friend. He truly was a musical genius and made up EVERYTHING on the spot. He NEVER played the same way twice if he could help it. He was equally comfortable under the hood of a motor vehicle, behind the wheel of a BULLDOZER or over a hot stove!
The whole band was brilliant. Its like witnessingthe point where a new band is forned. But of course for Bo that means nothing cos that was his skill.
Cool! I had the privilege of seeing Bo several times in small clubs, his shows were always exceptional. His music gets to your soul, it's enjoyable . . . what else are you listening for! Many say he's not the worlds best guitar player, so what. . it's what you do with it that counts.
Bo is just piddling around and experimenting.....then he comes up with something......then he builds on it and picks up the pace.....eventually his boys pick it up and chime in.......Brilliant.
I saw Bo play more than thirty times, coordinating shows for him in the eighties. When he got to rehearse & play with the same backing band for a few shows, his increased confidence/comfort level often lead him to venture into some of these more experimental & uplifting jams. You see on this footage why he was/is such a seminal influence on so many artists; turning the rhythm guitar into the lead instrument, casually perusing boundaries in his typically uninhibited demeanor & good natured humour.

He is truly missed.

Fantastic! I never wanted it to end!
If Hendrix is credited with being a "guitar innovator," then what is Bo Diddley? Hendrix' father?

@333harvey333 jIMI WAS THE INNOVATOR OF LEAD RUNS/NOTES, BUT BO IS THE ORIGINATOR OF LEAD, FULL-ON RHYTHM, MELODY, HUMP BUMP PUMP:
