  • Hope she is doing well.

  • God Bless Her );

  • How is she doing now? I was in a accident in 2009, and I have been to 2 hospitals where I did 8 hours a day of intensive PT and OT, so I can understand.

  • You go babe.I think this is great.I agree with the idea.

but AWESOME keep your head up.

  • Hi, great work. You might also be interested in having a look at the Active Hands hand grip aids to help hold things with weak hands. Google search "Active Hands" or "gripping aids". They hold fingers in really well to stop them popping out with movement. They are also padded, have Quad/tetra friendly finger loops which stay in position (instead of flopping around) when pushing loops through the D rings and are machine washable. Can be bought online and posted worldwide.

  • Wow Jessica. We have the same name. I hope you get a stander. You are beautiful and keep continuing with life. Guess what we are the same major too. I'm a psychology major too. I'm in school now pursing my dreams. I hope you get you'res!

  • If Jessica is a para, why is she in a power chair?? She should be in a manual - I'm a quad and even I use a manual! I hate how this video tries to get pity for her. SCI happens. I've been in my chair longer than out of it. Get over it, move on, live life to its fullest!

  • @ibeawicked1 para hea an f*ck wut u say,u dont get over it you burry it deep inside,we all know who and what we was before, what we have become today is a nightmare,u of all people should know dont judge, sounds like you havent gottten over nuthin ,stay pissed and i hope u never get up cuz i will

  • @TheAndrewzT hmm...no, fuck what you say. the end.

  • @ibeawicked1 - Shameful

  • @ibeawicked1 you are a WICKED AND EVIL PERSON !!!!!!!!!! SHES not trying to get pity from no one. So she uses a power chair, so what, you can last longer in a power chair, less tiring, not everyone has strong upper body strength.

  • Hey Jessica I knew a 17 year old girl That dreamed of becoming a hairstylest and was to young to take co op the year before she use to braid her little sisters hair Seemed like everyday One night after droping off her G/F with her B/F driving he tryied to scare her by speeding down a dirt road. The car went airborne into a tree on her side killing her. Her school called the next day (she was to be in there co op hair/school/job) her mom informed them what happened . You still can shine and u do

  • I go to Shriners too, for my arm though, very inspiring(:

  • Hi, i'm a c-5 c-6 quad. I'm 11 years old and you are my new idol. :) Thank you for posting this.

    tara

  • speechless..... life is cruel sometimes u never know why things happen to u or ur loved ones but u gotta have faith and know that even though everydays a struggle u gotta be thankful that u get that day. keep fighting jess

  • Road rage accident?? What transpired there on the road?? Donation sent.

  • Great video, It encourages me a lot because I am also the patient of spinal cord(C3-C4) injury which happened due to carelessness of the office cab driver. The good news is after continual physical therapy(9 months) I am able to walk and do things by my own. I hope you are/will walk normally one day. I am from India. Good luck and great job.

  • Remarkable story.

    Best wishes to you Jessica.

    keep up the great work.

    Johnny

  • i hope you feel better

  • keep it going jess. i to was injured at 16.

  • wow lovely story bless a i wish her all the best :D

  • Thank God jessicas still with us and i applaud you on spreading the word on such a honerable organization. good luck and wish you the best jess.

  • amazing the story of this wonderful girl!

  • i hope you feel better and i love you!!!

  • Sorry but this top of the can stuff is a myth. If you REALLY want to help, save the ENTIRE can, recycle them yourself and cut a check to the Shriner's for the total amount.

  • It is NOT a myth!! I am Jessica's mom...the only reason we ask for others just to donate the tabs is because of sanitary issues. We can not store the entire can if donated to us...We ourselves save the entire can and scrap it and donate...PLease don't tell peoplethis is a myth because it IS NOT

  • Yes you CAN save just the tops, but the tops only have like 1/20th the total can weight. Like I said, encourage people to save the WHOLE can, tell them to go to the recycling place and then cut you or shriners a check for the amount. It's better for the environment and you guys get more moolah.

  • Jessica looks so cute in her wheel chair at 1:39 in front of her high school....... wait, is that the pedo-bear peaking out from behind that tree in the background? (if you dont get the last statement then you are officially considered too old to be on youtube)

  • You made a very classy video, you are my inspriation! Dina HopeForSydneydotcom

  • Stay stronge jessica..

  • i HATE scis. good luck!

  • Who sings this song? Great inspiring video!

  • Sade - By your side

  • jessica,

this is a very moving video. I have to admit, I teared up a bit. I met this guy in the video response and as he states in the video, the standing has greatly reduced his pain and spasms.

    May be worth watching...bless you

  • i go to shiriners too!!!but in sacramento...i was a t12 and L1 burst

  • I get bad spasms that come from out of no where. Had to be strapped in the wheelchair.

  • Awsome story, I had my PCA read it to me.

  • I'm a T6-T7 complete Paraplegic. I was wondering why you're using a power chair if you only from the chest down. What level are you. If you're a para, you should use your arms and use a manual chair bc you're blessed to still have use of them. If you're a quad, I apologize and maybe you should've stated that in you video!

  • This is Jessica's mom. Jessica's injury level is C4-C7.She is a Quad.We are not the ones who made this youtube video. We have no idea who did. Someone who saw her website and got info from that She has NO upper body strength there for she can not use a typical manual chair. She does have a powerassist manual chair.

  • i am a quad. but since then ive had tendon transfers & can now use a manual. i dont know who made this video or else i wouldve told them to insert that

  • cool vid

how old was jess when the accident happened?

  • Jessica was 16 when she was injured. One month shy of her 17th birthday

  • you inspired me to try harder

  • i love the video

  • Nice work my friend! Wheelman here. :)

    Way to go sweety! :)

  • how cum u culd fit so much tags

  • Like, you're beautiful. Keep on trucking. You go, girl!

  • This is Jessicas mom..Thank you to whoever put this together. Its great!

  • You're 22 and you're her mom?
