I mean lets face it you fuck up in paint ball you get shot with some paint. you fuck up in real life you are dead. That grouping is good enough to me that is 100 yards round here we hardly ever get a 100 yard shot. Too much growth out here almost jungle conditions.

these mosins dont become accurate till you get past 100 yards. Kind of a problem for me considering thats our ranges max distance. I just aim the front site post at the very bottom of the rear sights cut out. not in line with the top, as you normally would. Works for me. Clay peigions at 100 yards are easy.

Are 1931's rare? It depends on the arsenal they came from and any stampings. In general, no, 1931 Mosin Nagants are not typically rare. Probably the most rare variant would be the "SAT" stamped rifles, of which only around 210 were ever made.

Yes, the M44 will recoil more. Both the 91/30 and M44 shoot the same cartridge; however, the M44 is shorter and lighter. You will notice slightly increased recoil and much increased muzzle flash. Because of the shorter barrel, you'll get a little less velocity out of the M44 as well.

I think your group would have been much better if you take the bullet of each round and reset it with equal bullet pull tension. This will tighten groups with surplus ammo, never done it myself you should try. Making you own loads works too,

If your nagant says MO you are lucky. These are ministry of defense guns. Some have two dates, while others are one dated. Can you find two on yours video poster?

Also I'm having troubling with aiming high at 100 yards. I'm about 6 inches high with light ball. Do you recomend taking to front sight off and extending the front post, or adding TO the top of the front post. I hear 1/16 is enough, what would you think.

A 1940 Mosin Nagant from Tula is a pretty rare rifle. I've been looking for one for quite some time. These rifles can typically shoot at least 3MOA, so keep practicing.

these rifles could shoot a lot better. i have a 1931 nagant, ex-sniper model. the second time i shot it i was putting five rounds into a 1 inch circle from twenty five yards. that would mean that at a hundred yards i'd be shooting a 2.5 circle or around that. try using a different position when you shoot. but nice rifle though

I the m44 in a fiberglass stock and i took out 3 tomatoes at 150 yards using iron sghts the second time i ever shot the rifle they are dead on acurate if you take care of them

i own a m44 with a bayonet but mine is shorter than those ones that 91/30 sounds weird i was expected to go boom. mine goes boom with fire spitting at the end ... WICKED my m44 came with grease can tools and green sling in the box

try uing the bayonet attached it may fix for aiming problems.. mosing are sighted with the bayonet attached or exteded in m44 rifles

@reflexenable good idea but the m44 was a 38 with built on bayonet because they never implemented a attachable bayonet for the 38. The 38 was also significantly shorter than the 91/30 the m44 is also shorter than a 91/30 with the bayonet. A 91/30 with the bayonet attached is freaking long and makes aiming more awkward but the recoil would be pushed straight back more instead of jumping up. Good idea animematt or even a little weight on the front would help with some recoil the same way.

From what I read the 91/30 can be fired accurately *only* with the bayonet on (i.e. the

distance adjustments on the rear sight are

only for the bayoneted set up).  Is this true?

not really, when you mout the bayone it'll shoot a bit down and when you don't have it connected it will shot just perfect. now my m44 shot a little to the left(without bayonet) and to the right (with Bayonet)

Nope. The rifles were sighted from the arsenal after refinishing with the bayonets attached.

You merely have to re sight the rifle with out the bayonet.

Lots of rifles will shoot high because the rear height adjustment is measured out in Arshins (Russian measure- approximatly the distance of a soldier's step, or 28 inches)

and not yards (some finn rifles are supposedly in meters). This can be fixed a number of ways, look it up.
