Can't watch it, just remembered those lilly livered idiots cut the word 'Gippos' & changed it to 'yobbos' totally ruining the original scene. Well done idiots, we do notice these things. Just like they're censoring those old shows on GOLD. They cut out a pivotal scene of Blackadder because it implies a rude word, doesn't use the word, simply implies it.
@flaxonx3 Have you noticed that when Richie also says 'I know what you Gypsies get up to when the lights are out', there is a massive fairground noise put on top of it, so you can barely hear the original line. They even fade it out a bit. In the original, that wasn't there. Clearly they didn't even want to say the word 'Gypsies' either.
saying gippos is funnier becuase it makes it more confrontational for what he says later for the propeiter to pull the rifle on him, whereas saying yobbos makes no sense
Yeah US TV seems to shy away from the comedy of contempt in favour of 'life-affirming' upbeat. Cheers was the only US comedy series I've seen that came closest to the UK TV staple of having all the characters despising, yet having to put up with, each other :D
I'd like to be the first post to say "this is THEE' BEST ! comedy in the world !" I grew up with this and find myself saying things from the show all the time. Love the "excuse me mate" bit before he shoots him in the eye with the air rifle ! LMAO.

Given the BBC's notorious love affair with political correctness is anyone actually suprised that this was edited ?

It was 'thieving bastard gyppos' but for BBC purposes they dubbed it to 'thieving bastard yobbos' you can tell by lip reading
