Very good, when did you learn to play the Marimba anyway? Im from Guatemala and is very common to hear the Marimba everywhere you go, but how did you learn it?

@freak8385 In Belgium and holland (probably other countries to) when you learn to play the drums in a music academy they eventually start to teach you how to play mallets ;)

@freak8385 As mentioned by @IVlathinator in developed countries mallets are part of the Percussion curriculum. The orchestra marimba, played here, was developed in Guatemala by the Bethancourt and Hurtado families in Quetzaltenango and then the instrument reached orchestras around the world in the industrial version.

Sadly in Guatemala we don't take proud of our national instrument and very few people learn to play it.
