Nadlemnan is an obstinate fool who simply does not understand the difference between alcohol and narcotics- including pot. Alcohol is legally permitted under the assumption that it is consumed BELOW THE LEVEL OF INTOXICATION. That is not how narcotics are used. Although a dangerous drug itself, if alcohol were consumed in the same way people use narcotics it would be just as illegal. Nadelmann is going about this in the wrong way. Legalization will create a nightmare of drug use increase.
In The Netherlands a significant less percentage of the population uses Marijuana, on regular basis. So that means also less addicted people. I use Cannabis for more than 22 years. I never used it that much. I am no wake and baker, and I do not like to be high all day. Many days I do without, but seen the health benefits I do vaporise regular. I consider smoking as heavier than vaporising. But if one combines Hemp seed oil consumption with Cannabis as a treat, it is a benefit. Not a drug.
Ethan Nadelmann for Drug Zsar.Europe has virturaly told the United States that they are not going to fight the War like USA do. They treat their drug users as real human beings I was totaly surpriced. Not once was I harrassed by he police.I was searched once.Apparenly they were looking for some other criminal that looked like me.They found a set of works on me.The police very politely told me to put every thing back in my pockets when he was finished.I thought I was going to see the insdie Jail
regarding heroin users: In europe where we have already nationals networks of substitution treatment (methadone, subutex, substidol) we should include heroin presription on some rules-conditions, and we could get a controlled distribution - not total legalisation.

completely total legalisation of illegal drugs is required...
even if societies would break apart (which actually is more likely happening because of prohibition)
