Three things : First check out the language really spoken in 2011 in different lands. For example, in Alsace, most people are native French speakers today. 2ly, Nation are based on a "common will", I don't think that Austrian or Swiss want to join France or Germany. Third, according to your own logical you have forgotten several "ethnies" such as Gallician and other changes or borders.

this map is a smart idea .but Satmar- north Transylvania is 40-50 % Hungarian so that province can be better divided, among the Hungarians ,and Romanians also Banat southern west Romania is Majority German and Hungarian it would be better to give them independence or Annex them to Hungary. and half of Karpatia Ukraine is Hungarian. Oh, you forgot Bretagne north west French peninsula is a Celtic Majority. Also most Moldavian hate Romanians ,and are not Romanian by blood. Any way great Map!

Great map, If this was reality a lot of political unrest within these country's would be non existent. I especially like that Albania gets back most of it's territory that was given away by Europe after the Ottoman Empire left Balkans. I would just add that there is still a lot of Albania territory within Serbian borders, unfortunately they did a lot of ethnic cleansing so not many Albanians remain there anymore.

Alsace joining Germany seems unlikely. Alsatians would probably choose France. The everyday language is french, the alsatian language is on the decline, and most of all, not many people speak standard german...

Ireland and Northern Ireland would never unite. The Catholic v. Protestant battle, per se, has been going on for centuries. It's not as explosive as it was, but there is mutual hatred for each other, and unification would cause more problems than it would solve.

Excellent! Much better than current borders. Borders based upon ethnic settlement rather than the conquests of war is more logical. Two changes I'd suggest: 1) adjust for Stalin's massive ethic cleansings after WWII by moving Germany's eastern border back where it was in 1938 and Poland's eastern border farther east. 2) Return to Finland the land seized by Stalin in his 1940 war against the Finns, and probably give to Finland the Karelo-Finnish speaking area adjoining this territory.

@ericcbingen I agree with the second one, but I think that moving Gremans back to the western territories of Poland and moving Poles to their historic lands would provoke new wars, so I think we just have to agree with the current borders.

Even now in some east part of Poland some land must belong to Ukrainians and Belorussians.You can move to eastwards only germans borders because East Prussia, West Prussia, Danzig, Pomerania, Silesia, East Brandenburg was ethnically majority Germans and after second world war all Germans was expelled and come here to live poles

@MrJohne21 again, this map is based on ethnicity, Austrians are ethni Germans. "Austrian" is just a term for the people who live in that country.

It's not that we don't like them, but - at least we northern ones - don't feel so close to them. They don't play a big role in our daily life. For us, Austria is just a neighbouring country, just like Switzerland.

But that doesn't change my comment. :) If the main of Austria would want to join us, they first of all would have to convince us (for me Germany/Austria is = bad karma to be honest) and second it would be a problem of Austria if some of them would disagree. I really can't imagine the people of Berlin or Hamburg going to war 'cause the Austrians are agruing with each other about to join or not. We're not that determinated about this relict of ancient times.
