I can understand how the intonation readout would be useful, but really, automatic string winding and tuning?. Honestly, if you cant string a guitar and tune it by hand, then you shouldnt be playing guitar in the first place. Thats the first thing i learned back when i first started playing!
learning to tune by ear makes such a better musician in many ways, makes you more familiar with you instrument, and extends your knowledge of pitch; especially when tuning or fixing instruments of a different nature. However this is good for those who may be deaf :|
@MegumiFF7 They used to be easy to find, but now, they're hard to find, but you can find them on ebay or other outlets and good luck in your search for one! I think Gibson phased them out or something, maybe, because it's a limited run!
look it is a realy cool idea but i am not going to spend around the 10 000 euros for guitar isntead of just using a normal tuning macine for 5 euros and a gibson guitar with the same sound for 1000 euros you are much cheaper so this a waste fo money but the idea is realy cool
You mean the friggin thing doesnt fix its own intonation and adjust the truss rod? What rip off,. im only joking,. This is amazing, what will they think of next? maybe a guitar that plays itself and you dont have to know shit? Hell we already have cars that paralle park a car,. so no one needs to know how to park a friggin car!
I wouldn't buy one on something as easy to tune as a guitar with a fixed bridge. I'll be really impressed if they can make one work with a Floyd Rose tremolo... lol. I'd pay a lot of money for that.
The funny thing seems to be - the 5 mins time this thing saves up to you tune the guitar manually, you spend 5 times in the end when you change the strings, i cant imagine this to pay off in the end especially since the tech inside can be damaged but its interesting to see that what is possible.
Know what would really be revolutionary? Getting something like this to work with a floyd rose bridge. You'd need something to adjust the springs on the inside.
Isn't it kind of ironic that it's a "Robot Guitar", supposed to do everything for you and be easy, but then you need an instruction demo for it? In life we pay for our conveniences, sometimes in unexpected ways. By the time you're done you could have just tuned it already. Besides if it doesn't have the Buzz Feiten tuning system, then according to him it's not in tune anyway.
but those guitar probably weigh more and cost more money, just so you don't have to strum and hit for like a minuet to tune you're guitar. But I have to admit, it's pretty frickn' sweet
this is probs a really stupid question but do u need to adjust that stuff on the body with the screwdriver every time u put new strings on? is this the same with all lp's?
Sheesh, just buy a 250 dollar peterson tuner which gets your guitar tuned within a tenth of a cent!!
It saves money and is the most acurate tuner out there.
Besides ive found NO demos on this guitar whatsoever. Does this mean that everyone who owns this knows little of gear and tone? Or does this guitars tone just suck so bad that no one want to show it online?
It's tempting, but at the same time, it takes alot of the individuality out of playing and owning a guitar. when you REALLY know how your guitar works, you know what you can do with it. Think about Eddie Van Halen. If he had this, he probably would have never messed around with his guitar and probably wouldve never have come up with half the stuff he did.
You'd think for that whole shit ton of money you could get some body binding....or maybe some different finish choices, I guess the only color these come in are "take it in the ass blue" or "take it in the ass blue burst"
I`m gonna guess that with any kind of regular use, this baby`s going to spend a lot of time(and money) in the shop. I`d rather spend the two grand on something more reliable I can fix myself. Novel idea though.
its really good for people who play like slide tuning and people who play gigs. its just to make things easier. i'd personally recommend the vg strat instead, it has different tuning options but it has different sound effects which make up for the few tunings the gibson has that the strat doesnt. like most technology its just to make playing easier.
although this is a pretty awesome idea, i still think that part of playing guitar, or even owning a guitar, is having to basically take care of it and keep it in tune yourself.
I can understand how the intonation readout would be useful, but really, automatic string winding and tuning?. Honestly, if you cant string a guitar and tune it by hand, then you shouldnt be playing guitar in the first place. Thats the first thing i learned back when i first started playing!
