Listen, the coverage on death of Tim Russert was seriously over the top - I guess the media is covering it like a presidential death because it makes them feel like "here by the grace of God go I." Listen, the coverage on death of Tim Russert was seriously over the top - I guess the media is covering it like a presidential death because it makes them feel like "here by the grace of God go I." Ego centric media. Tim Russert wasn't all that - I was more upset when Jack Ritter died! The coverage went on and on and on - ratings probably plummeted. At the same time they were droning on and on about Russert, many tragic fires and tornado's were happening that hurt thousands of good folk!

Tim Russert was a good guy, by all accounts. A son, father, and husband. I mean no disrespect, but let's not fool ourselves to thinking he was some amazing journalist in the mold of Murrow. He didn't ask the tough questions in going into Iraq and played "gotcha" politics in the presidential debates, especially with Sen. Clinton. He had his own agenda enabled by his company, he hardly was the noble journalist people portray him to be.

I want to add that it's ok to disagree with Tim. He was only a human being, but he was a great journalist. I just realized how much i respected his opinion when he died. It was not a conscious decision but i had to know what he said about all the issued. I watched MTP religiously. You can disagree with him for your reasons, but he was the best that i knew. Tim was a wonderful journalist and human being, I rose early on sunday to see meet the press every week as did many, it simply won't be the same without him. As for people trying to play politics or complaining about how long they are airing coverage of tim. Have some respect for a man who has touched so many and given so much to this country! NBC's Tim Russert died of a heart attack on Friday. Only the deaf, dumb and blind can be unaware of this fact. Ever since the unfortunate death of one of the major players in the field of media and politics, non-stop media coverage has drummed this fact home to millions of Americans. Enough, already.

The death of a good person, a good man, and an ethical person is a time to reflect on a life well lived, which is now over.
Please take a moment to put aside the running diatribes in your heads.
RIP Tim Russert, you will be sorely missed. Were that there were many more like you, and many less like some of those commenting here.
