there were 343 FDNY firefighters lost on 9-11 and they are all heros . No credit was given to my 43 brothers and sisters in EMS that ran toward the towers , not away from them to save others and gave their lives doing it ! :(
There are paid Firefighters and there are men and women who decide to drop their dinner and run to the station when their pagers go off. They miss tucking their children in at night, they miss holiday dinners and most importantly value time with their own family... I am proud to say that i am one of them, not only because i run in for free but because i can be there to help someone on their most darkest day... I live knowing i have missed so much family time and know that the past hurts everyday
To my girlfriend who was there on 911/ she is MY hero. She lost 10 close firefighter friends that day. She lives with P.T.S.D but lives free and knowing she never has to go into another fire again. My thoughts are of her,,.once fearless now retired and doing alot better. her spirit,,,lived in me and she will go far with me at her side! to all firefighters/ my hat is off to you this night !!
you see a fire engine going by you and you think what if 1 of those firefighters dont return :( ..... my mums friends how went up in flames my mum and her friends ran into the house i ran to the phone called 999 , my mum got pulled out about 5 and a half seconds before an explosion in the house my mum was lying at the bit were the explosion happened my mums was injured by the fumes she was ok about a week later no 1 was hurt thanks to my mum & friends & Strathclyde fire service
fedex that has to be the most moving things i have heard, other than the firemans prayer. im truly a little more honored after reading that to be able to call myslef a volunteer firefighter for town, there is no heart stronger than that of a volunteer. this job, scratch that this passion honestly makes the holidays that much sweeter knowing that youve put your life on the line, helped others, & are able to live another day. god bless us all man
I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling. Our proudest moment is to save lives. Under the impulse of such thoughts, the nobility of the occupation thrills us and stimulates us to deeds of daring, even of supreme sacrifice.
